As I know Portsmouth was in the First Division without a chance to enter Premier so Harry invited him for show.. that he need starr player to keep public on stadium. Prosinecki was that man and he never play in England before so he except it. It was on the finish of his carrier thou he continue to play for lesser clubs in Croatia next few years making public very happy. He is great player and it is a real pleasure watching him even in a friendly game on a small playground in neiberhood :)

I am a Croat but believe me I am saying this as a person who likes football in general....this guy was one of the best of all times. If he was playing for some other greater football nation such as France, England, Argentina....he would be considered one of the greatest....which he still was. His name should be in same line with likes of Maradona, Pele, Cruyff, Beckenbauer...
