Awesome MT, looks sooo good. No way it is worth $875.00 like vermin331 said. Maybe $300. The double action was just a gimmick to charge big bucks for an ordinary liner lock knife.
The MTX2 LCC Lightfoot sells for $875.00 if you can find one. I am sorry I love your pimp jobs and they definately improve the looks of the knife, but I would have left that one alone.
that's a gorgeous knife. i probably would've left it alone, but the full on carbon fiber scale with the carbon fiber insert on the blade looks so damn good.
yes, the bolster are what make that knife an auto. i have a very cheap version of this & when you slide one of the bolsters over it opens the knife automatically. kinda cool, but really it's unnecessary. this way at least the knife is legal is even more places. good job.
The MTX2 isn't just made to be converted to an auto. It is a duel action knife meaning it is a manual and an automatic knife. Thats what those "extra parts" were. The auto button is hidden as the bolster
You did a beautiful job on that one bro! I don't like the fasteners or the way the lock bar seems so hard to get to. I had a Lightfoot too and sold it. I should have held onto it. I sold it for a quarter of what it was worth too Doh!
I'm starting to really hate specialized fasteners on knives. Heck even Torx is starting to piss me off. I'm leaning towards flathead screwdriver slots as the thing that should be on hard use knives. I've started grinding them into the pivot bolts on some of the Enlan knives I work with.
Looks great, can't wait to see it in person.

Makes me wonder if the owner didn't know it was a dual action auto with a hidden bolster release...interesting.

Just curious. Would circlip plyers work on this? I used them on my PT pivot screw.

That microtech you pimped is a very rare, discontinued and EXPENSIVE Limited Microtech "Lightfoot". I hate to guess what is was worth
vermin331 1 month ago
Pretty sure someone on USN made a tool that works on microtechs for far less than $150

i thought you could create a tool by driving a few small nails through a piece of wood, then cutting off the tips.
