How on earth are we supposed to read that slow typing text coming on the video??? am i supposed to wait for that to be spelt out, and listen to you talking slowly at the same time? Whats with that slow typing txt??? why did you bother even making this video?
If you drink a straight shot you will need good beans , grinder , tamp , maker etc , but if you mix it with milk , sugar , creme , caramel , it doesn't matter what you use .
All these ppl with their 25 seconds shot are full of shit . My $200 breville made a great shot with lots of crema , better than my la pavoni lusso ( garbage ) and the silva which burns the coffee . I will try this next and if I don't like it I will get a breville again and pocket the $400
I thought this video was good but didn't really follow the usual guidelines that I follow to achieve a great espresso. For one, you manages to draw your coffee on like 12 seconds, when it should be around 20-22, you didn't flush the steam nozzle after preparing the milk, and you told us to leave the portafilter locked in position which damages the seal. Sorry to slate the video, but you make a soppy little weak coffee in a fantastic machine.
The shot in the video was short. The coffee was not fresh and I didn't test out the grind and tamp pressure before the vid.
You say that I did not "flush the steam nozzle" but in fact I did. I termed it "blowing off the steam" or "cooling the grouphead".
I do in fact keep the portafilter locked on the machine with my Gaggia Primavera (it is in the foreground of the video) in order to keep it hot. But, since the Gaggia Classic has a cup warmer, you could rest it upside down on the lid.
ive had my Gaggia Classic about a month now (it was second hand) I have tried Lavazza Crema e Gusto and Lavazza Rossa coffee grounds and I keep getting bitter tasting espresso, what can I be doing wrong ? I use about 14 grams and put 2 x 30 ml shot glasses under the porta filler, I compress the grounds very hard and the shot time still seems to be too fast ( under 15 seconds )

Also , nothing against the guy who posted the vid , but when you enter " gaggia classic " in the search bar , this should not be the top of the list

Good vid but the music kind of drowns out your voice.

My first thought would be that your grind is too course.
It sounds like you are using good coffee, although if it isn't fresh you will have trouble getting a good shot.
One thing to note. When u are using fresh coffee, with the right grind size, less tamp pressure is necessary.
Let me know how it goes.

I'm glad you like the video and the song.
The looped song is actually a song that I wrote and recorded.

@jjp218 The instructions were clear but I found the music although pleasant overpowered the speaking voice which is what I wanted to hear

Hey,
thank you for this explicit video.
Looks very tasty.
Which band is this song-loop from? It sounds so cool.
Thank you!
