Like what are you fishing for? Bream whiting flathead are at you feet.. 100meters out shity salmon and tailor. Fuck guys get a boat. Don't think this will be the next craze cause it won't .save your money plenty of devices in the USA and if it does sort of well here the Chinese will coppy it and send you broke , sorry that's the truth and future of manufacturing here. But great fun .
You cast like a girl! 14 ft Blue Marlin Heavy, Daiwa Saltiga 50H and .55 Giant abrasion with a 10oz sinker goes 180 meters here...but then again South Africans are real men...lol
@beeglou Heaving a 14 footer from the beach eh? That's gotta cause some complications with your bait slapping the sand behind you? I go with a TICA 11' with a well-tuned Daiwa Slosh 30 and 15 pound line. I dare say my bait is close to 2 football fields away when it hits water. Simple pendulum cast with alot of torque from my hips and abdomen.
We don't cast our baits, and we use really big baits like whole squid or a whole mackerel or a yellow-fin head etc...to catch big sharks and rays we typically use a 1.5mm wind-on leader roughly double the length of the rod (28 feet) with an additional 1 meter 250lbs wire to prevent being bitten off. I then have 340 meters of Kingfisher .55mm Giant Abrasion line, with 600 meters of backing (Braid) for a total of 950 odd meters of line on the Saltiga 50H.
We don't cast a bait out, only a 8-10 oz grapnel sinker (anchor) and then, using a non-return sliding clip with roughly a meter of 200 lbs wire and the bait, we slide the bait through the surf zone to the bottom...That way you can get much larger baits much deeper...and we also use this method with smaller baits for edibles (works great with live-baits too).
what's the point of wasting more money on compressed air or what so ever you call it.....it's better to just used that air money for more jigs and lures...i mean c;mon..those fucken air is expensives....and plus...i can throw up to 200 yards....no need for that thing....
@teplungor well sometimes there isnt enough room to cast like when are plunking bonneville dam in oregon for sturgeon sometimes there is too many people and other rods around to cast. the old timers that have been fishing there for years built a catapult. also if you are using more lead than you wanna cast with your rod you can launch you lead and have the weight rigged to preak off when snagge or a fish takes your offering
I understand what you are trying to get over and that is your device can send bait and lead further than a very poor hand cast and I mean it is a very, very poor hand casting technique.
A little bit of practice/tuition and you should be able to cast by hand 100 to 150 paces without having to cart all that other gear around with you.
I think its cool as fuck, it would work better on the peir so you can just load it on your peir cart
