I knew Webb a long time before this documentary, but since i watched it, I simply can't think of a better ref in the world (!). He is so sincere about his job on the field, yet enough into football to not place himself before the game. Of course he makes mistakes as every human does, but he's one of the best in his professions history (alongside famous Collina from Italy).

@memusic21 I'm a Liverpool supporter and a fellow ref. It's utterly ridiculous to suggest he's a United supporter, no ref in the top flight is biased. I get accused of being biased every game I ref. Howard Webb gets accused of being biased every time he gives United a free kick. You don't have to come up with conspiracy theories every time United win to be a Liverpool fan.

One of them worked with Howard Webb and my cousin said that HW has admitted to liking Manchester United. This is only conjecture and I am only relaying what my cousin told me. I don't know if it's true or not. I agree, it is wrong for people to say that HW is a United supporter. However, it is also wrong for you to say he isn't. Only HW knows the truth.

I've reffed a team who, of their 11 starting players, I was good friends with 4. It didn't stop me giving 2 penalties against them, and sending off 2 of their players (including one I was good friends with). If you look back through the records, I don't doubt you could find similar, COINCIDENTAL patterns of certain referees giving decisions to certain teams. It doesn't mean they're biased. But because it's Howard Webb, and because it's Man Utd, he has to be biased

@bulletarerad - I am glad that there is a local referee with no bias. When I played at the semi-pro and local levels, we had good, bad, indifferent and vindictive, biased biased referees. Arguing about MUFC getting favourable decisions is just like Liverpool purportedly getting favourable decisions during the late 70s and through the 80s. In the end, it's cyclical. Question: Can you honestly say that you know all referees are as objective as you, or have you come across biased refs?

ich mag den webb! und ich finde er hat alles richtig gemacht (bei diesem spiel) bis auf das erste tor, welches ja abseits war... jedoch trifft ihn keine schuld, da der linienrichter hätte eingreifen müssen und es dazu noch eine sehr schwierige situation war. was die polnischen fans dann da gemacht haben ist einfach nur beschähmend!

At first he did what he always does: talks, warns; and then started the yellow cards rain because the soccer firld was turning into a battle field. Yes probably 1 or 2 players deserved to be sent off right in the first half, but i think that would have increased anger and more violence.
