I had an Opel Vectra. It was involved in an accident, so while it was being repaired, I rented a Ford Mondeo.

I loved it! Exterior is stunning, fabulous interior, very large boot, and incredibly quiet when driving at 120 km/h on the motorway.

I got rid of the Vectra and bought a brand new Mondeo in January.

How can people come on here say Mondeos are shit. Compared to most cars on the market, they are a fantastic car, and brand. Ford offers quality cars that drive superbly, and generally offer superb performance. I have had Fords all my life (Cortina's, Sierras, Fiestas, Focus's and Mondeos), and they are all fantastic cars. I currently have a Mondeo, and it is far better than what most rivals offer (such as the Renault Laguna, Vauxhall Vectra and Mazda 6). Ford = Great Brand

I am on my third mondeo and love them!! Oh and by the way "chootah" I dont live on a council estate! If the new Mondeo had a BMW or Merc badge on it everyone would think it was amazing,cause its got Ford on it a lot of people say crap about it! at half the price of some cars that aint as comfy as it I think I'll be staying with the mondeo!! But I am missing a modern petrol engine concept. Smaller supercharged petrol engines and modern transmissions like VW has. A 5-speed transmission in such a modern car should be a "no go". I hope that Ford will develop it.

Agreed, Fiat is already showing great success with their T-Jet variants; Ford has at their disposal the great 1.3l & 1.5l Mazda mills from the '2', adding an L/MPT there would be a no-brainer for 150bhp+ and, apparently, Ford is already considering a dual-clutch auto (DSG-like) tranny for the RS, so who knows - perhaps it will spread around the range.
