are you people even watching the video 0;41 she say GROUP evanescence not singer group people big diffrents ><...neways great video makes me wanna work on my vocal but its hard when you a smoker lol
Pardon this, but quick question? How does she sing so loudly without going into falseto?I know it's to do with her completely opening up and singing from the pit of her stomach (I think? xD) but is there any tips on how I could achieve this a bit more effotlessly than I do? Haha
@LestatsMonCherie Yes, it has to do with how she breathes and then lets the sound move through her. Take a look at this site SingerQuickFix. com. There are 2 good videos for you: Singing High and Long High Notes. Good luck!
@SingLikeYouSpeak shes a very good singer isnt she? before I listened to her, I was trying to hard to make my voice sound "ideal." Now I hear the good things about my own voice I dont try to cover up how it sounds normally.
This is awesome, thank you very much! I actually have a cover of "Call Me When You're Sober", and "Like You." But with this advice, they could be better. Haha! :D

I have 14 years so my voice is still developing. I can reach F3 to F5, without falsetto, without warming up and I don't have music classes, what kind of voice do I have? Do you think that I could sing evanescence songs comfortably? My voice could ''fit'' in evanescence songs?
@MissRitaLee without hearing your voice it's difficult for me to say. Do you feel comfortable when singing the song? Then you should be ok. Are you getting voice training?
Can you do a video on how to sing as high as Amy Lee sings in her song Hello when she sings the final bit her voice is REALLY high and I can't get my voice to reach that level it would really he
And....further to my previous post.I would certainly not describe Amy Lee as having a great rock voice! She has a good voice no doubt about that and it suits Evanescence. But she is not a great rock vocalist.
@SingLikeYouSpeak for the record I have not missed a thing. As a vocal coach I prefer to work with my students developing the voice, their songwriting and unique artistery. You state the obvious. Of course you have to be true to yourself...your own voice...to be an artiste. Notice that I say "artiste" and not star?Stardom may come through this with a whole lot of self belief and hard work. That is my message. I would never mislead. Good luck with your business venture. Great to speak with you.
Waffle. I am a vocal coach based in East London. This person says "be yourself, be your own person" and yet posts videos with titles like How to sing like Beyonce, Taylor Swift/Amy Lee/Evanescence!! I think shes just trying to get more business to be honest. Also stop waffling about "vulnerabilty" Of course artistes are vulnerable. Your not saying anything constructive or helpful. Opening up is important but students need to know how to do this. This is NOT a Detailed Vocal Session.
@joolsfactor These videos were posted in response to requests from singers who wanted to sing like these artists. You may have missed it, but I am giving the viewer a few technical tips on how these artists approach their singing. It may be helpful to some - it's not meant to be a detailed vocal session. My message here's what this person does, but to be a star, you've got to be true to who you are - your own voice.
Dude Ev so wins Amy no real hardcore vocal training and different sound. I like the emotion in Amy's voice and the past experience you can hear in it. Truly moving when she wants it to be
Should've put the title as sing like Amy Lee...and Evanescence isn't Gothic just hard rock with a female vocalist...now tarja from nightwish is far more talented than her and Evanescence
@nizc0rvan Thanks 4 turning me on to Tarja. I have to disagree about the talent factor Tarja may have a good voice but it needs lots of training yet to be great. Just my opinion
@nizc0rvan Why must people feel the need to bring up Tarja or Sharon or whoever into Evanescence video and prove their superiority over Amy? Enough with the comparisons, but if you really want to go there: Tarja is a soprano who’s been thoroughly trained in opera, whilst Amy is a mezzo who’s never received any formal vocal training aside from her highschool choir – yet she has a very decent range and technique. Also, Amy is much younger than Tarja…Tarja is far more experienced...
@SingLikeYouSpeak :D well i have been in choir in middle school and the whole class would clap everytime i sang solo, but last year during my choir test i had a cold, i got a b+ but the teacher didnt know i was sick, i tryed to sound normal and i did! the teacher told me to open my mouth more because i sounded a little bit nasal X( i guess if she knew i was sick i whould have had a better mark. i have thought of it as a carrer :D i like singers that actually sing for the musci, not for the fame
@4EVERINTENSE You must be a real musician. To realize that it's really all about the music and being true to the music - that a singer serves the lyrics and the music. Don't worry about a grade. In a few years that won't matter at all. I know many famous musicians who were told in school that they would never be musicians! Keep goin, girl.
@bewareofit Training can do a lot to increase the resonance in your voice-which is what makes it sound big-It has nothing to do w/vocal chord size-that makes a difference in range.
