  • he was hilarious both intentionally and unintentionally. harry was just a delightful broadcaster. because of his sense of humor

  • Put Harry Caray and Ron Santo is the same room. They could talk for days.

  • MINE'S THE SUN

  • @cromicus I hear it's the King of planets

    :D

  • Would he eat more crackerjack if it were made of BBQ spareribs?

  • Haha Steve Stone is just like "WTF???"

  • HEY

  • People who don't know why Cubs fans love Harry, you didn't watch the games where the Cubs were down 8 runs, and resigned to losing and here is Harry rambling on and on. It was so funny! !But he was a fairly honest man.

I'd take Harry Caray over any announcer who ever lived. He was simply the coolest.

  • he was great

  • Steve Stone and Joe Simpson should author a book on stuff that Harry and Skip said that had nothing to do with the game.

  • So what's going on in the actual game?!

  • TO HELL WITH CRACKERJACKS!

  • will ferrel= shit harry=god

  • Comment removed

  • HEY would ya...HEY!

  • LMAO he really meant that!! Crackr Jack get your shit together!

  • Len and Bob suck

  • Back at the Barnyard- Nuff said

  • Hey you ever open a box of cracker jacks and found a bloody knife inside? I did.

  • @cragmac1000 i got the sunglasses from the movie They Live once.

  • I once stared at the sun through a pair of binoculars for over an hour.

  • The prizes got worse and worse as the years go by. I remember passing the Cracker Jack factory - I think it was on Cicero Ave. somewhere in Chicago. I still have a taste for it now and then. Greatest thing: the commercials from the 60s featuring Jack Gilford (look for them on YouTube).

  • CUBS WIN!!!!!! CUBS WIN!!!!!!! CUBS WINS!!!!!!!

  • I'd smother myself in Brown Mustard and Relish....I'd be so delicious! It's a simple question Norm, a baby could answer it!

  • Love it at 1:02. Classic. Long live the legend of Harry. I'm doing my part with a little ditty with Harry on the Terry Mulholland trade on my channel.

  • Brilliant.

2 minutes in and we don't even know who's up.

The man is an absolute legend.

  • Those glasses that Harry Cary wore were awfully womanish, weren't they? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • Cubs Win Cubs Win!!

  • Its a simple question doctor, would you eat the moon if it were made of ribs?

  • Typical Harry - the game takes a back seat to one of his dragged-out stories.

Watch comic John Caponera (?) do his Harry bit sometime... (I'm paraphrasing) "So I was out on Rush Street last night at this greasy spoon - there's a fastball off Sandberg's head, both benches clear - and I decide to order up some tacos - they're carrying him off the field I think he's dead - and I go and try to find some Kaopectate..."

Funniest sports gag ever. RIP Harry.

  • Totally rolling on the floor...man, is he going to flatten those lousy Crackerjack people...and Steve Stone about to lose it. I miss this SO much.

  • Oh man! somebody must have gotten jipped out of their cracker jack prize when they were a kid. Harry??

  • 6 people enjoy not getting a prize in their box of Cracker Jacks

  • Love this!!!

  • i know what's with crackerjack not giving prizes, it was like finding out santa didn't exist, BULL-S-H-I-T

  • HEYYYYYY

  • This is priceless....Harry was so awesome! For my best shot at an impression, search Harry Caray on Terry Mulholland. :)

  • do they still even sell cracker jack?

  • @enjoyitbro yea

  • What the fuck is he talking about haha Love you and miss you Harry

  • @Issaquan5 I remember this game. there was a CJ promotion at the ballpark that day. I think everyone was expecting Harry to wax nostalgic about Cracker Jack and instead he went off. Vintage Harry.

  • @tommytimp haha what a man.

  • Love it!!!! :)

  • HEY! what if the book was made of barbecue spare ribs? would you eat it then? its a simple question its not rocket science. just say yse and we'll move on.

  • Classic, just classic. Man do I miss him. Listening him progressively get blitzed throughout 9 innings. Watching him almost fall out of the booth during the 7th inning stretch. And poor Steve Stone trying to do post-game while Harry's almost passed out.

  • Lol I love this stuff but good god how the hell did cubs fans follow games on the radio?

  • 6 people dont like spare ribs and a budweiser.

  • Now there's one guy who would actually get me to watch a boring baseball game.

  • i have that very same pair of glasses

  • harry was a fucking genius

  • lol he just wont let it go XD

  • In the world of sports, Mike Tyson bit a man's ear off...I don't know what all the hooplah's about...I've actually bit a man's ear off on several occasions!...And I'm not proud of it but it's helped me out of many a jam!

  • Lol hilarious

  • That's why my friends call me Whiskers. (pause)

    Hey!

  • amazing ..i would watch baseball if this dude was still kicking

  • i rather listen to him all game.....than sit and watch a game at wrigley

  • He's hilarious he was a baseball commentator and he said here's the pitch and didn't even tell you if it was a ball or strike just went on with his story like their isn't a game going on..the best.

  • Hey! with us today all the way from Cal Tech is astrophisosist Dr. Ken Waller.

  • @doleydomination72 "I thought your friends called you whiskers because you were curious like a cat?"

  • @toolintention ..............well thats all the time we have today, next week we are going to have special guest Dr. Albert Einstein. Well ive been informed Albert Einstein died 42 years ago, well we will try to get him anyway. CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN!

  • Listening to Harry Caray makes a bad day good and a good day great! There will never be another like him! How do you say "Cracker Jacks" backwards?!?

  • Listening to Harry Caray makes a bad day good and a good day great! There will never be another like him!

  • as an avid Reds fan I have always hated the Cubs, but I always loved Harry Caray. I would watch more Cubs games than anything just to hear that guy (and cause I live in Indiana and they show every game on WGN). RIP Harry!!!!

  • HEY!!! We all know the moon isn't made of green cheese, but if it was made out of bbq spare ribs...would you eat it then? I know I would. HECK!!! I'd have seconds.

  • -- Great memories from my childhood. Man, that guy could call a game better than anybody (inaccuracies and inattention to key details be damned). He was the greatest. Just can't watch the cubbies anymore without Harry calling the game. It was like sitting next to an extremely knowledgeable, though half tanked Uncle, who was paying (some) attention to the game but paying full attention to having fun. What a personality... sorely missed =(

  • @cantecleer

"like sitting next to an extremely knowledgeable, though half tanked Uncle, who was paying (some) attention to the game but paying full attention to having fun..."

Best thing I've ever heard re Harry. I miss him too.

  • @cantecleer You completely and totally articulated my thoughts/feelings for Harry. :)

  • @cantecleer I know your comment is old, but I couldn't have said it better. Well done. :)

  • everytime i think hes going to finally stop talking about cracker jacks he goes back from the game to cracker jacks again and im pissing laughs

  • HAY!!!!

  • Harry spelled backwards is Cracker Jack.

I'd like to hear Harry on Crack Jack.

  • is this guy for real?

  • to all you saying @frenchtoast1337 the sun is not a planet, it's a star.... look up will farrell playing harry caray on saturday night live

  • "awwwwwwwww . . . . . that wouldn't be a home run in a phone booth!" RIP Harry.

  • Harry you slay me. You are insane. In the greatest way. I grew up a Cardinal fan and lisened to you Joe and Jack on KMOX. Thanks for a great childhood. I miss you.

  • hahaha god damn hes got some mean adhd

  • Don't jerk me around Norm.. Just answer the question..

  • steve stone what a traidor

  • genius.

  • It's Cracker JACK. There is no S in the name.

  • this is gold

  • Comment removed

  • He must have been totally hammered... Respect the harry.

  • harry caray is awesome.....steve stone props to you too......i watched you guys everyday during my childhood.

  • join us next time when we talk with albert einstein! oh it appears albert einstein died 42 years ago. well try to get him anyway!

  • There's no "s." It's Crackerjack. Not Crackerjacks.

  • Harry Carry I LOVE you. Still have his autograph today.

  • @wwefanworld Awesome!!!

  • Stone and Caray were THE BEST!!!

  • @galarius AGREED!

  • I miss those days of Steve Stone and Harry Caray while watching the Cubs when I was a kid in Chicago. GO CUBS!!!

  • fond memories of Harry Caray growing up watching the Cubs on WGN. I wasn't even a Cubs fan but I loved hearing him call a game.

  • is that steve stone??

  • @marklarkark it is indeed stoney.

  • Comment removed

  • The thing I loved about watching Cubs baseball...you NEVER knew what Harry was gonna say or spell or whatever. Miss those days so much! Don't even watch WGN any longer, haven't seen a game in 5+ years and wouldn't miss one back then.

  • I love how hes like "Theres a bouncing ball.....", "Heres the pitch" and never goes on to tell ya what happened, ball? strike? hit? ground ball out? lol just back to the cracker jacks

  • @matzner21 You are so right!

  • about thirty seconds in he uses the term "barbarie" (sp?) what's that mean???

  • @SLLAB02 Barberie would have been the name of the 2nd baseman who got the bouncing ball. Probably Bret Barberie.

  • RIP Harry Carry :(

I also miss Stone on the cubs

  • @alexcubs25 How about it. I havent been able to watch a game since Harry died. It's just not the same. "They're here from Kalanoogala California, cheering on the Cubs....bouncing ball, Sandberg, over to first. There's danger here sheereeeeee

  • @caisediab I dont think anyone will ever be able to make such a mark on Chicago sports like Harry did

  • May heaven be filled with cracker jacks with a prize in every single one. <3

  • wow, his XXL size glasses are epic

  • Classic Harry!!! God, I miss him!!

  • I sometimes got the impression that Steve Stone got irritated by Caray's nonsense.

  • That's the most asinine marketing I've ever heard of ...

  • Harry you were one of a kind. You are baseball to every kid from St. Louis in the 50s. It sounds like you had a couple of Buds. Misss you man. Keep on keepin' on.

  • harry was the best!

  • Classic!

  • Harry took his Cracker Jacks seriously.

  • By the 7th inning stretch Harry was tanked.

  • Let it go . . .

  • Harry was the best. RIP

  • "Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack...I don't care if I ever get back." Save the kids the heartache...don't let them buy Cracker Jack!

  • An American Classic xD

  • A perfect blend of professional commentary and personal opinion.

Nobpdy did it better than Harry

  • I hate the fucking Cubs but I love listening to Harry.

"ya know, Burba spelled backwards is Abrub. I think Burba sounds a lot better than Abrub."

    H-Caray - 1997.

  • If you were a cracker jack and you were starving woudja eat yourself?

  • The mayor of rush street!

  • Haha the original...timeless!

  • LMAO!

  • Classic. We don't even know who's up to bat for at least four batters.

  • id kill to have him broadcast just one more game. when he left, that was the end of the fan's fan in the broadcast booth. there will never be anyone like him ever again.

  • LET'S GET SOME RUNS!!!

Salt of the earth... helluva guy. One of the greatest of the greats. Totally down to earth and a fan's fan.

Considering how bad the Cubs normally were, Harry's totally random musings were the real entertainment. And his angry reactions when the Cubbies let him down (or his excited, heartfelt cheering when they actually won). I miss him. Most sports-announcers are too robotic, too rote and scripted.

Harry rocked. I still miss "CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN! HOLY COW"

  • my friends call me whiskers, it's probably because im curious like a cat!

  • I guess I'm just a worrier. That's why my friends call me whiskers.

  • i thought they called you that because you're curious as a cat...

  • @drewallah *pause* well that's all the time we have today thanks for comin out!

  • Hey! If the moon were made of spare ribs, would you eat the moon?!

  • What's your favorite planet? Mine is the sun, i like it because it's like the king of planets! Well planet or star when that thing burns out we're all gonna be dead...

  • @Danigfgsp12345

would you eat the moon if it was made of BBQ spare ribs?

  • @ddesjman444 I would if it came with a prize.

  • @ddesjman444 We all know the moon is not made of green cheese, doctor...

  • If cracker jacks were made of bbq spare ribs, would ya eat em? I know I sure would!

  • its a simple question, just saw yes and we'll move on

  • and then i'd have an ice cold Buddweiser beer afterward

  • haha!! Go cubees!!

  • if the moon were made out of cheese would u eat it? I know i would...heck i'd ask for seconds

  • its ribs, if the moon were made of ribs..noob

  • im curious as a cat.......thats why my friends call me whiskers

  • Hey! What if......Hey!

  • I like the way he makes listening to the game even more exciting! That's just funny stuff!

  • Would you rather be the top scientist in your field or have mad cow desise?

  • harry was right....i got ripped off on my toy once when i was a kid too..it sucked! he was awesome, miss watching his games. Brian- Forks, Washington

  • My friends call me wiskers.

  • Hey! My favorite planet is the sun. It's like the king of the planets

  • the sun isnt a planet

  • @frenchtoast1337 "Well, planet or star, when that thing burns out we're all gonna be dead"

  • @xDEADIRISHMANx Ain't that the truth

  • @frenchtoast1337 Yes...It's made of BBQ spareribs

  • @frenchtoast1337 FYI, the sun is not a planet. It's a star.

  • @icvisuals thats a no brainer its a joke

  • @icvisuals you dumbass

  • @frenchtoast1337 The Sun is a star not a planet.

  • I want a "Cubs win! Cubs win!" clip so bad.

  • that will be hard to find.... seein as the cubs don't win very often!!!!

  • Would you eat the moon if it were made of ribs!!!?

  • Harry Carey was one of the greatest sports announcers that has ever lived. They do not make sports announcers like that these days.

  • Nobody *makes* sports announcers dumbass

  • it doesn't matter in my book, harry is still damn funny

  • If the Moon was made of Cracker Jacks, wouldja eat it?

  • Just got finished watching Ferrell and he had me rolling. Great comment!

  • @youtert id ask for seconds

  • Rotten Cracker Jacks bastards!

  • I miss Harry. I was born in Chicago, but my family moved to Fla. when I was young and listening to Harry and Steve on WGN was very comforting and made me feel close to my relatives back in Chicago. I don't enjoy the current team of len and bob. I'm not sure why, but they don't enhance my game experience.

  • CUBS WIN!! HOLY COW!!

  • dude, get over it...

  • Greatest announcing duo ever. Of course, it was Harry's show, but Stone ate it up man. I remember it all!!! Also, Steve Stone was a hell of a color man. He could call a pitch before it was thrown. He is like a fish out of water on the south side with 'Ol "HACK' Harrelson..."You can put it on the booooaarrd...YOU SUCK!!!"

  • "Why not talk about commercial products that don't do what they represent to do?"

A valid statement especially when the corporations and their lobbyists seem to run this country.

  • I grew up in the Chicago area. I hate the Cubs. Harry Caray was great, very funny and entertaining. If you're going to rip him at least spell his name right Moron. If you hate him so much why are you watching his videos.

  • He was the best. I loved listening to him and he always talked about his wife "Dutchie" and where they were going out to eat later that day.

  • Best subject of discussion during baseball game commentary ever.

  • I think Harry might be a little buzzed here.

  • I love it, priceless!!!!!

  • best broadcast team ever

    Harry Carry and Steve Stone

  • agee the best ever

  • Soo True! Better than what is passing for Cubs Broadcast team these days, those guys outright suck! I miss Harry & Steve I can't even watch Cub games with those two loads they have on today. Vanilla & Vanilla.
