Great version, man. My parents were sharecroppers, and I was born on the farm in 1957. I had a little cotton sack of my own when I was a boy. This song is, for me, pretty much my anthem. I'm impressed by how much feeling you give the song--even though I know that you, like CCR, never picked any cotton. (I didn't either, except in fun.) Thanks for this version.

@Zarkoon - Thanks for the message - You're right, I've never picked cotton - sounds like a really tough job, but have had my share of jobs that weren't much fun myself, so that helps me relate a bit. Glad to hear from you.

Thanks - I had to listen to the song again to answer your question - lol (haven't played it in awhile). The guitar is in standard tuning with the exception of the low E string, which is tuned down to "D" - so when I play a G chord, you'll notice that I'm fretting the low E string on the 5th fret which is a G note in this tuning. (and the 5th string is fretted on the 5th fret as well = D note).
