  • Seems like a very nice guy. But you have to be able to speak English to be PM, sorry.

  • This guy sounds like a stupid French bitch. Not to mention that he seems like a complete tool. I can't believe that Canada would even think of electing an idiot like this.

  • you may not like him neither i do.

but you are a real racist guy. you are a shame for canada.

  • Rumor has it Canada is a racist country

  • A stupid French bitch ? ... and what about English Canadians ^_^

  • It's racists like you that swing elections. Why don't you adopt a more enlightened viewpoint, instead of spouting nasty hate speech like that? Shame on you, you are a disgrace to the nation of Canada.

  • a french from France or a quebecois?

  • what a tool

  • vive le bloc québecois!

  • \May I remind everyone that in the last 20+ years, it was the liberals that have been the fiscally conservative party. The conservatives have been the big spender '

This is utter bs. Give an example instead of making blanket statements

  • HAHAHAHA, Liberals fiscally responsible?!? Are you telling me you don't remember a quarter of a billion dollars stolen from Canadians and given to the mafia?! Or maybe your politically correct double think doesn't allow you too.

You liberal fascists are tricky ones! Selective definitions, not a new tactic but a nice try.

The conservatives are the best government Canada has seen in a long time!

  • You stupid media-brainwashed fuck. If you were even moderately literate and read more than newspaper headlines, you would know that at most, $1 million was stolen in that whole scandal and the thieves were taken to court and put in prison. The Conservatives are the Bush adminstration reborn. When they sink our country, stupid fucks like you will be the first to complain, even though you are the ones who subjected us to these facists. Move to Texas or something.

  • Ya you sound smart.... Definately did your research on the Conservative party....

  • Ha, owned.

Before you start labelling Dion as an idiot, watch the French videos, where he shows his "skills".. Mind you I don't like him either way, but in English I hate him all the moreso o.O

    Anyways, it's "definitely".

  • Liberals fiscally responcible. How about the Gun Registry, The HRDC boondogle, 900 million for busted subs. Sponsorship program with 250 million in kickbacks and we dont even have to mention Bob Rae or the money Jack and Olivia pissed away on free crack pipes while on city council in Toronto propped up by separitists Harper is not at all lilly white in all this mess but do we want this coalition during the worst economic crisis in 100 years. We Cdns forget too easily.

  • Let have a coalition of mps in Layton's riding overthrow him. They got more total votes than he did. That's a coalition I'd like to see.

  • QFT, you sir are a king. I support your Layton overthrow.

  • Actually, poles say that the majority of Canadians would rather have an election today than let this wretched coalition rule. Since the coalition has begun support for the conservative party has risen to 47%. That is quite a bit more than a majority of seats in Parliament.

  • Dion's address is obviously crappy quality, but at least he provides insight and speaks of the changes the coalition wants to bring rather than go off on some seperatist scare tactic rant like Harper's address.

  • this is hilarious I had heard it was poor quality but this is crazy bad.Poor liberals trying to overthrow the gov with a false pretense like a global economic crisis. Why don't they just say the truth Harper was going to take their political party dollars away from them. That's the real story not this bullshit that they are spewing.

  • Poor harper trying to buy himself time by delaying the confidence vote and shutting down the parliament

  • Poor Harper outwitting witless Dion again and again.I feel your pain though who wouldn't want the country run by the crooks, socialists, and seperatists ?

  • Harper likes outwitting Canadians too.

  • Bin Laden had better images than that.

  • haha, he can't even manage a simple video. He has got to be the worst communicator ever.... may be that's why he lost so many seats to the liberals.

He seems like a really nice guy though but no leader.

  • was this filmed with a cell phone or something?

  • Canadians are paying attention to Canadian politics, I like to see it. We didn't vote for leaders and this show of force from the Coalition makes me thankful that this isn't a 2 party system.

  • MUTINY!!!!! Does this mean anything to anybody. They didn't win by election so they are going to over power the political ship by force! PIRATES is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Layton and Dion.

  • The Liberals and NDP got snookered by the Bloc and PQ. Dion and Layton overlooked the fact that Quebec is in a provincial election. If the coalition goes through Quebec gets more money and power, if the coalition fails the PQ get an issue to drive a political wedge between Quebec and Canada. This may help the PQ to win the provincial election. Duceppe was able to screw them, because Dion and Layton were too power mad and naive to see they were being duped. They are not fit to run this country.

  • check out the book behind him..."HOT AIR"...nuff said.

  • Harper is a liar and a traitor.... Anything is good to kick is butt out of ur country... SUPPORT THE COALLITION

  • What the hell are you smoking?

  • did you even vote? If you did, your man lost, get over it.

  • Look from the last election did the Liberals,NDP, and Bloc not see that Canada does not want them being in charge our country. Canadians should vote for who they want for Prime Minister not be told who it is! If any thing for sure NOT liberals who should be in charge of our country. Last election the Liberals lost 20 seats for the previous election and because of that the Liberal party wanted Dion to back down. NOW THEY WANT HIM FOR PRIME MINISTER! What are they thinking! NO COALITION!

  • Liberals, NDP and Bloc are a bunch of power hungry idiots. These are tough times and we need a fiscally conservative government in power. Just think of it this way...if they can't even provide a simple tape to be broadcast, how can they run a country ?

Additionally, this is not really a coalition. Jack Layton was calling the CBC to get on air as well, without talking to the other stooges.

  • May I remind everyone that in the last 20+ years, it was the liberals that have been the fiscally conservative party. The conservatives have been the big spenders. The liberals handed the conservatives a giant surplus that was completely lost in a very short time. There's no excuse for running a deficit now. If the conservatives had been more prudent with their spending, we would be in much better shape with the country's finances today.

  • I'm sorry, but you're way off here. There is a major global economic recession, even Ron Paul couldn't pull a surplus at this point. If the country were to run a deficit right now, it wouldn't be the fault of the government. Given that we export 80% of our goods to the United States - where people can't even get approved for new credit cards - it's inevitable that Canada will be hit hard.

The global economy has more to do with it than anything.

  • You're absolutely right. Nobody can pull off a surplus now. If Harper hadn't squandered the $13B surplus the Liberals handed him, we would have a lot more padding in our books for tougher economic times like now. (BTW, exports to the U.S. were only 76% in 2007 and dropping.)

I'm not a Liberal supporter. I just hate how people think Conservatives are the fiscally responsible ones. Republicans are just as bad. Clinton ran surpluses. The administrations before and after Clinton ran deficits.

  • Harper hasn't squandered the surplus, there's a global recession. Tell me, are you so naive to think that implementing the green shift would stop us from going into the red? You need to be familiar with the context here. Harper has lifted the tax burden on all areas of the economy. The government isn't a business, it shouldn't strive to make record profits. Record surpluses mean that the government is taxing us unfairly and we aren't getting anything out of it.

  • You make a good point. I'm not suggesting that governments should make profits. I just think it's prudent to run a modest surplus when you can, so that you have some wiggle room when times are tough. It doesn't mean that governments are taxing us unfairly.

Tax cuts are good to stimulate the economy. Harper just chose the wrong taxes to cut. I admit that Dion's implementation of the carbon tax is flawed, but there are benefits to GST and carbon taxes. Corporate and income taxes hurt the economy.

  • I ran out of space. Just want to elaborate that carbon taxes and GST benefit society. Corporate and income taxes hurt the economy.

  • Though I think both of you have a good point, this has nothing to do with the potential for an economic stimulus package. The Liberal-NDP response was due to the Conservative attempt to elimate public financing legislation, otherwise they'd never have dated to make such a bold move. But under the circumstances, who can blame them?

  • No, the tax cuts were wasteful spending. There was no major improvement to the economy, meanwhile infrastructure in the country is underdeveloped and crumbling (i.e. Toronto, the city of 2.5 million with an aging two line subway system). Money is really needed for various projects across the country to correct current problems and handle future growth. At stake is economic productivity and employment.

  • NeverBeTooThrifty

How is it violated at home? these are elected officials by the people, they may be a bit self serving but conservatives have a responsibility to the country as well

  • I thought Canada was a democracy, but apparently I was wrong.

While we take pride in Canada's role in defending democracy in Afghanistan, will we idly watch it violated here at home? In many countries, democracy has been preserved or won through civil war.

Perhaps we Canadians take it for granted.

  • Creating a coalition government is a completely democratic thing and it happens a lot through out the world.

  • and the coalitions quickly fall apart

  • Of course the coalition will fall apart. The majority of canadians dont want Comrad Layton or any of the 3 stooges running our country. The next election will shows these idiots what the country thinks of their actions

  • Canadian Democracy 101:

We do not vote for Prime Ministers. We vote for a parliament. Parliament chooses a Prime Minister. If parliament has no confidence in the Prime Minister, they can bring down the government. It is then up to the Governor General to decide whether to dissolve parliament or to ask the opposition to form a government. There is nothing undemocratic about this. Let's not forget: The Bloc was asked by Day in 2000 and by Harper in 2004 to join a coalition against the Liberals.

  • This guy is a piece of work. He says that concession is important and government leaders need to work together. He says Harper is too partisan. On the other hand he apparently finds the Bloq less partisan, and more willing to work together. Isn't the Bloq the party that wants to dissolve the Canadian Union? I think Dion and Layton's desire to run the show have them making deals with the Devil.
