I think the part with all the 96,000 people singing in perfect tune made up for Bono's lack of energy on this one :)

But you gotta realize, U2 had been on the road for 4 months. These guys are not getting any younger. It's hard to create inspiration on demand, night after night, when you've been singing the same song for over 20 years :) I still think the rose bowl show as a whole was great. At least they do a better job than Van Halen :)
