  • ok the old guy looks sadistically happy throughout this entire clip LOL

  • After this scene I couldn't watch the movie anymore. My adrenaline was pumping too much...why didn't he at least have a rope or something else for her to grab?

  • bloody damsel in distress. can't simply reach up and climb his arm. "oh please help, I seem to have suddenly lost the use of my left arm."

  • I nearly popped a blood vessel @ 1:10 - 1:13 !!! that old bastard is in hysterics LMFAO!!!!

  • Why is that fucker laughing? lol. It takes the whole mood away from this scene. :-P

  • Frank: Thanks for "dropping" by!!

  • I noticied this on VHS in about 1994, it cracked me up back then and still does now. But have we become just like Frank...

  • Look at 1:13, evil smile, I love it!

  • at :14 holy shit. It was his master plan all along!

  • LMAO!

  • LOL wtf is with the old dude grinning?

  • no point screaming for gabe when ya falling your only friend is death

  • he needs to workout

  • 1:02 best moment, she's too damn noisy.

  • just saw it on free tv. I couldnt believe it but damn.

  • Don't worry, she'll just bounce when she hits the snow, she'll be fine ---- words my mother actually told me when I watched this the first time

  • He's thinking about his latest residual check from "The Waltons." I'd be smiling too.

  • I felt the sheer terror of this woman, it was like losing a sister omg

  • frank needs to brush his teeth tho

  • Lol!! That is crazy! He is not just laughing he is ROTFLHAO!!! Wow!

  • as gut wrenching as that scene is I just can't help but LOL everytime I see that shit eating grin! And when he is laughing I just lose it too1 Ahahahahahahaha!

  • wtf

  • HE GOT THE POWER , I GOT IT ALSO <

  • lol

  • I never noticed that till I seen it here. Maybe the film crew was doin something funny. Surprised the edit people didn't catch this blooper.

  • Pause at 0:15 Look at that evil grin on Frank's face! He's getting off on this, that old crusty codger. "This is a painting of a banana eating a monkey..."..you bastard...

  • Lord...he is a great actor, but what was he thinking in this scence??!!

The expression of terror on "Sara's" face is Oscar-worthy...in my opinion.

  • I know! What's his deal? Frank is crazy.

  • SEND FOR THE MAN!

  • I thought it was funny when he was just grinning like an idiot, bu then he appears to be laughing so hard. Like: "Drop, drop, drop, drop!"

  • them men in the red tank top smokes to much ^^

  • This deserves so many more views than it's got

  • As soon as she falls cue up the song "and I'm Free! Free Falling!!" Tom Petty but at that spot not the beginning of song

  • finally someone has noticed what i noticed when i saw it 10 years ago!

  • I thought I was the only one that noticed this when I saw the movie?! haha

  • @andretripicchio2 - that's because he's the daddy from the waltons! lol They should have played the waltons soundtrack behind this scene!

  • HOLLY SHIT!!! I didn't notice till I read the comments!

  • HAL: Don't you lose her Gabe!

GABE: (I don't take no orders from you, punk!)

  • he likes all the excitement

  • i dont understand why that guy was smiling the whole time, can some one please explain this to me? ty

  • @30inventionman we believe he is grimacing

  • @KODfreak

He was obviously told to do that, but suddenly he laughs at 1:11... what the heck? lol... I put it down to a blooper, that they just ended up thinking was the best take anyway.

  • @KODfreak

I think harlin thought, the audience would be concentrating on Hal, so they wouldn't notice the smile/laugh anyway. and he was probably right. This is the first time I've seen it and I just watched the flick again yesterday.

  • Click 2 repeatedly for a dog!

  • Pause it at :14 sec. and look at his eyes, he looks like a total psycho........LOL

  • @53lincoln I see. what a freakin a hole

  • @53lincoln didn't know what you meant until I looked at the guy in the background...HAHA, who the f#$% directed this?

  • Frank is laughing throughout whole scenes

  • He saved her glove. That's something at least.

  • Frank rigged a faulty harness because Sarah didn't like his banana-eating-a-monkey painting. The bad guys later killed Frank because they knew his banana-eating-a-monkey painting would be worth more if he was dead. The $100 million they stole was going to be used to buy the painting at a discount price so they could sell it for three times that amount later.

The whole movie essentially centers around Frank's banana-eating-a-monkey painting.

  • @Batman8657 you are a genius

  • WTF!!!! Frank is enjoing the fall!!!

  • I remember watching this in the movie theatre and just looking at everyone else to see if they were noticing the laughter on Franks face.

Its cool to see a video about it years later because its the only thing I paid attention to during this scene.

    also the epic fall !!!

  • LOL I noticied Frank laughing years ago after owning the VHS of Cliffhanger, it made me chuckle. It actually erased the memory of the falling Teddy Bear.....

  • LMFAO! I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that Frank was laughing like a lunatic! In his defense though, he probably thought he was in a comedy based on the cheesy script and bad acting! hahaha! Frank laughing at her is the best part of this whole movie!! ;)

  • Why are all you nut jobs saying there's a smile and a laugh? Nobody smiles or laughs throughout this scene.

  • @bptaylor11 He does smile and laugh! Frank is the old guy! He really cracks up after she falls.... how can you not see that? It's right there! LOL

  • @pattersonsgirl He is grimacing and gritting his teeth and that's just the way he looks. He is not laughing.

I can reverse that on you and say how can you not see that, too.

There's no way that the man is laughing. Maybe he's not the greatest actor in the world but he's definitely not laughing.

  • @bptaylor11 Ok... sorry! Didn't mean to offend you! I didn't think anyone on the planet took this piece of shit movie seriously... I stand corrected! There is nothing totally hilarious about Frank in this scene. (Unless you have a sense of humor... then you know what I'm talking about.)

  • @pattersonsgirl Your apology seems so sincere. No need for one anyway.

I didn't take the movie seriously, it's pretty much a joke. But, it still looks like the guy is grimacing to me.

  • :'(

  • it was a prank she really had a parachute jk lol

  • Frank is secretly a ROCK CLIMBING SERIAL KILLER!

  • I literally laughed out loud at the smile and then the laugh at the end. Damn thta shit was hilarious.

  • 0:14 - 0:16 = he's loving that s*** right there!

  • hahahahahahaha (Frank smile vocie)

  • Epic Fall !

Frank is still smiling after she falls !

  • she should have gone to the gym more

  • I just about died laughing.

  • @TheBassoProfondo So did he!

  • I cried a lot when I saw this part a few days ago. <:*( WHY THE HELL WAS THAT GUY SMILING?!?!

  • Everybody else is pissing themselves in fear and suspense, except Frank, who's standing there having a grand-old time.

  • what the fuckkkkk, he is fucking smiling AhAhAh

  • This is the most bizarre scene I've ever seen. I just don't understand why they would do this, it had to be intentional. What the hell?

  • Why in

  • the expression on his face when she started to fall just about made me wet myself

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Until i saw this vid, i considered this scene to be one of the most dramatic and tragic movie scenes ever made, but now that uve pointed out Frank smiling and laughing, its title has changed to the most hilarious movie scene ever made. Well done sir, good spotting

  • @thejosh38 you considered this one of the most dramatic movie scenes ever made? I get you voted for Bush....twice.

  • @mickeycruzz Was that meant to be an insult? I'm gonna take it as one anyway, and retort with: Mind your own fucking business, dick. Pretty sure i'm entitled to my own opinions

  • @thejosh38 ooooh, not very nice! You are entitled to your own opinions, just as I am entitled to point out your ignorance. You actually thought this was one of the most dramatic scenes ever filmed. Do not publicly state such foolishness and not expect some sort of "retort." Glad you watched Pulp Fiction, douche.

  • @mickeycruzz HA shit man, I was kinda assuming ur some kid trying to act tough, but just went on ur page, YOUR 35! Im gonna use my psychic abilities and predict that uve got self esteem issues, making u feel the need to harrass people via youtube cause ur too dam scared to stand up for urself in person. Get a job. And btw, retort was not invented by the creators of pulp fiction, its a real word fuckhead, look it up

  • lol! My nigga Stallowned sounds like he has downs syndrome @ 0.52

  • I noticed this when i was really young and was confused...its a gud thing i didnt grow up thinkin that thats how i shud react to a woman falling to her death:-/

  • 0:14 ! ROFL! :D

  • at least Gabe did save one of her gloves to give to Hal in remembrance of Sarah, give the man some credit where credit is due, shouldn't we all look for the good in everything?

  • you know i just noticed that shara herself is smiling while she is falling to her death respond to this comment if you notice it

  • Frank likes baaaad times maaaan!

  • But how is that possible? I mean, of course he wasn't supposed to be amused by the whole thing. Why didn't the team notice? Why did he even smile and laughed that hard during the shoot? What was the actor thinking? I don't understand how this is possible.

  • frank's plan worked!

  • Frank is a descendant of Leatherface and loves to see people in fear and watching people die, he was going to do a little dance when she fell but held back because he didn't want the other guys to know he was getting off and loving every minute of it!

  • omg i saw this scene ten times but i had never noticed the grin of Frank...it's amazing

  • That smiling, grinning, sadistic bastard Frank.....he loved every second of it!

  • Bhahaha... never noticed that before, hilarious!

  • Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! What a sadistic psycopath!

  • 1:04

  • GAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • omg...frank :DDDD I havent notice that earlier either...

  • lol wth, I guess its not good to make jokes about poor old frank.

remember that ass joke before they picked up howl.

  • Ha! I never noticed that before. Frank you naughty bastard!

  • This scene is very similar to the end of "The Guardian". Both great :D

  • When he laughs @ 1:11 is the best.

    "YES! THE BITCH FELL!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!"

  • The actress who dies in this clip also plays a woman who gets stricken with the disease in OUTBREAK. I feel bad for that actress, thats why we don't see her in the movies anymore, cuz she always dies in all her movies.

  • ahaha i remember watchin this as a kid and rewindin this shit like 700x best scene of the movie except they left out the part when the teddy bear falls first

  • Holy sh*t.

    FRANK IS A SABOTEUR!

  • Frank! You rigged the shit!!!

  • IT WAS FRANK! He rigged the strap to break!! That crazy old bastard was just loving every moment of it.

  • poor girl so beautiful... ;(

  • sure looks odd, it even sounds as if he is laughing at the end

  • That is the fugg'n funniest thing Ive ever seen... I didn't even notice the crazy old guy who seems totally excited by the whole thing... hilarious!!
