  • maybe your cpu is better for physix

  • Only games with physx you can have a physx card...

  • What does a PhysX card do? How can it give a performance bump or hit?

  • Question i got 2 gtx 295 in SLI and i am thinking of geting a Gtx 260 for physx but i have a 120hz monitor so its taking up 2 of my DVI ports and i have a 2nd monitor can i connect it to the GTX 260 that will be running physx. Do you know?

  • to not get software to start up, go to start, type RUN, enter. then type in msconfig, enter. then go over to startup tab, uncheck anything that you dont want to start up, usually everything thats not vital in my case. hope that helps. very nice test video

  • oops, posted this right before you said you already looked in msconfig. nice score. i laughed during the HOLY NUTSACK part, epic

  • You forgot to turn off physx on the nvidia control panel, as far as it looks to me. I used to pull the same scores with a similar setup.

  • The point of the video was the card, not having PhysX off or on

  • 8800 GT is too weak as PPU in your system. A 250 GTS would do a fine job.

Even a bad PhysX card can bottleneck your system.

  • Too weak how? I don't find I'm bottlenecked at all. Vantage just doesn't like dedicated PhysX cards, probably for the same reason enabling PhysX makes your score unofficial.

  • It's because your GPU's are much faster than the PPU. So actually your 285's are waiting for the 8800 to finish the data, and that makes a bottleneck.

In real world gaming performance you won't notice any decrease in performance if you are bottlenecked by the PPU, since your GPU's will take over the task instead of waiting. 250 GTS is the most popular PPU, if you have 200GTX in SLI. It's a damn good PPU

Veteran facts from SLI-Zone forums ;) Oh! And congrats with the (very nice!) score! :)

  • Interesting. Thanks for the congrats.

I suppose the PhysX won't matter in a bit of time when Fermi 395 is released.

  • I think PhysX + DX11 gonna be kickass! We will see ;) Cheers!

  • Cool Shit Man,

Set-up Is Kinda Like Mine Cept Im Water

And Sli Not Quad Waiting On Another GPU

Nice Scores Man And Nice RIG.

5/5 Stars Im Scoring Around 25,7 Single GPU.

  • I'm watercooled now. My latest videos showcase my new setup

  • i can confirm that EVGA precision is on start-up under msconfig. I don't know why you aren't seeing it.

  • I don't think I said Precision, I believe I said E-Leet

  • oh my bad. i wasn't really paying attention i just assumed Precision.

  • Hi, I was wondering if you enabled physx on this benchmark otherwise this would not be an accurate comparison with the dedicated physx card with physx enabled. Since physx is a resource hog, I would expect your scores on this test would plummet. Also, I read an NVIDIA forum stating that if you have a single monitor, you would need to connect your physx card directly to the VGA input alongside your DVI input from your GPU.

  • Yes, I enabled PhysX.

The cables were an issue with the older drivers, but do some research about the newer drivers and you'll see that it is no longer necessary to hookup the VGA cable. Just set the PhysX Card to 8800GT or whichever you've got.

  • Great results bro! I'm also surprised about the results! Impressive CPU Cooler too! On Air! AWESOME! 5/5

  • wow nice results man, nice setup 2

  • "scores don't lie, much like shakira's hips" hahah classic. nice test, surprising results

  • Thanks dude. Yeah I wasn't expecting to beat my high score on this test. Now I'm feeling 30K is a real possibility with the right Precision combination.
