  • Can you also make review on the new Gretch G5135 Corvette with the Megatron pickups? I've been checking it out online and alot of blogs and reviews say good things about the guitar.

  • You spelled David GILMOUR's name wrong....

  • mmkay..

  • Guitar sounds like crap

  • damn i love gretsch solid bodies, got my eye on a pro jet, don't know if they still make the 'vette. it's like a warped sg junior and id snap one up straight away. but since fender now own gretsch its an unlikely thing that if its not still in production we will ever see a reissued 'vette, or be able to afford one now unless its made electromatic.

  • holy shit! i know what Nicholas Cage smells like!!!!

  • Its not a car..its a guitar

  • he sounds like mr mackey at 2:49!

  • Malcolm Young uses Gretsch. Why not mention him?

  • Steve Hunter uses one of these. Why not mention him?

  • He got it wrong I know Gretsch from their drums.

  • I keep looking at that surf green ('57 Chevy) guitar in the background. Is that a vintage guitar?

  • @Parsa9 Looks like a Jag-Stang, the one curt cobain designed

  • Comment removed

  • @TechnicalEvaluation He responded to someone asking what that green guitar haging in the background is.

  • @toshineon

You're absolutely right. I realized that pretty much the second after I posted the original comment, but I wasn't sure how to delete the comment at the time. Anyway, my bad.

  • @Parsa9 look like the Fender Jagstang (Kurt Cobain sig model)

  • why do you used a bullshit like the line 6

  • would you please have him get rid of that fuggen L6? -_-

  • @TheJeephistorian I'm high and it's way obvious this guy isn't nicholas cage. I want to know what the 20 people that voted on your comment were high on because I don't understand how they could agree with your comment.

  • @Igamikun It is extremely obvious. The comment was sarcastic, and is making fun of the guitarist's resemblance to the actor Nicolas Cage. You're welcome.

  • @RaygunShaun I think my balls have a closer resemblance to nicolas cage than this random dude does. That's all I'm saying.

  • @Igamikun True that.

  • Great review. Will you be reviewing the Fender Mustang?

  • line 6 is awesome.

  • @FCValle

Other than POD Farm, the recording stuff and the wireless guitar systems, Line 6 fail hard because of god awful tone.

  • Its a guitar. Just don't use LINE6 !

  • im not that smart at guitar stuff... why does a line 6 sucks so much?

  • youre selling the ugliest guitars eva!

  • At 7:23 he says mmmkay. Reminded me of Southpark

  • @slimmetalpickin - Yeah, Mr. Mackey, mmkay?

  • I can see better amps in the background!!!!! Stop using the stupid modeling amp. Also why with the ridiculous audio settings? these guys are some of the worst reviews on youtube.

  • please start using a decent amp ....

  • hahaha 5:06 - add a ' a little' gain - useless video

  • I have the same amp as him

    50watt 1st Generation Line 6 Spider

I'm trying to sell it though. It's a great little amp, but i'm moving and need to downsize my rig a bit.

  • tiene un sonido muy especial, limpio, la respuesta a les paul, no la supera, pero es muy buena

  • No, its Adam Carolla!!!

  • geez that guitar is ugly.

  • @ferrarimk13 How is it ugly?

  • @stude444 that headstock kills me!

  • I can't believe he didn't mention chet atkins...

  • Epiphone Wilshire anyone?

  • 1:55

That's called a bevel, sir ... Not a "crest shape"

  • I've always wanted one of these. $700 doesn't come easy though, not when you're tight on cash because you just bought a huge Gretsch Drum set and some cymbals. Maybe someday...

  • Malcolm Young should have been on that list...

  • buying one of these soon ^_^

  • @crowman131 these are great guitars, sounds alot like a tele with but warmer and not quite as loud, great feeling neck and lightwieght guitar, get some jangle out of it with tubes running clean, kinda ricenbacker sound too, has the round bubbly twang of grestch jet firebird too

  • @fraterlucifer888 The best thing about them is NO BINDING!! No issues with the binding coming off/deteriorating. I have a 65' that I had to replace the pickguard because it just started to melt away. They are great guitars though. Very easy to play, very little fretboard radius. Another cool thing is that they STAY IN TUNE!!

  • @tatsandteles no doubt mine was under my grandfathers bed for about 30yrs,the pickguard crystalized and disentegrated into practicaly dust, and the p/u had about an inch of greenish white corosion on it that looked like from the battery cables from an old dodge dart ,and had one of those weird burn vibratos on it with 30+yr old flatwounds and it crumbled too,but the neck is fine and the p/u worked so with a new pickguard and tailpiece its a screamer

  • This guy talks too loud in this video

  • doesn't matter what guitar you put into that amp, it'll sound terrible. Get a tube amp, at least.

  • It isn't a jaguar in the back it's a fender jag-stang

  • I played a new one of these today at a guitar store- It had a bigsby tremolo, and it was magnificent... My next guitar :O gorgeous.

  • Dude, that day you were not on shred mode :/

  • he could have mention kim thayil of soundgarden

  • The Jag looking guitar in the background is pretty.

  • Yea the Line 6 is just wrong for a guitar like that.

  • they found the most basic corvette they could find

  • It's a VINTAGE guitar... WHY a line 6!?!?

  • @c32linder a "line sucks" would be the correct way to say it.

  • @c32linder that pisses me off. i hate line 6.

  • @c32linder Exactly, you'd think he'd run a decent tube amp...

  • @c32linder They do all the demos with a Line6, not sure why.

  • I have a 65. I had my luthier build me a base with an ABR-1 bridge on it, makes a very BIG difference on the tuning issues up the neck. NO fretboard radius, you can fly on it if you get used to the tiny frets. Sounds great when you run it through a TC Jauernig Luxury Drive booster or any clean boost, followed by a nice analog delay. Country, Rockablilly, Rock. Great guitars to be had for under a grand.

  • Hey, it's Nicholas Cage!!!!

  • Rickenbacker is EXACTLY what i thought too

  • @Familyguy1230 if you mean he holds one and wasted gretsch's craftmanship then yea

  • his signiture guitar is similar to this guitar but his has many specifications

  • Ye PATRICK STUMP ROCKS!!!!!

  • yes he does and i have his guitar :-)

  • yeah he does... all day.

  • patrick stump rocks the trash bin on my mac.

  • really? a line 6 amp? really??? god...

  • whats wrong with line 6?

  • @amyourfather nothing just everything

  • i have that guitar how much does it go for these days?

  • you is one monster

  • I own a 2007 reissue of the corvette. It's a good guitar, good for most any kind of music. I don't really get why people hate it so much.

  • Just FYI...the Corvette was a entry level/ student model guitar

along the lines of a Les Paul Junior...they even had a pink model same body shape called The Princess...

  • The Princess wasn't pink it was white

  • They came in a color listed as Peppermint Twist...also white and light blue and green...check the catalog of the era if you don't believe me.

  • The peppermint twist was red with a red/white stripe pickguard. The white was the princess model. Light blue and green aren't PINK. They also made some silver and god sparkle versions called "Duke" Corvettes. No pink though...you fail. Thanks for playing. We have a home version of our game Carol, our lovely assistant, has for you on your way out....

  • The silver and gold sparkles...according to "Duke" Kramer in quite a few interviews were never officially "Duke" models...some folks have called them that over the years...they were a special order for a music distributor on the east coast...you could get a Gretsch in ANY color...like I said check the 62 Gretsch catalog...

  • Could someone tell me if that guitar is good for metal?

  • ibanez are good guitars for METAL!!!

  • ibanez are good guitars for anything!!!*

    Fixed it for ya.

  • DUDE PUT ON AN ARMY HELMET.

idk i think that would cool.

  • BTW that Line 6 Spider amp is like serving lobster on a paper plate.

  • agreed the spider makes almost every guitar sound the same with only minor changes occasionally

  • Only valve amps can really show what different guitar sounds like

  • My piont exactly

  • sooo true

  • You point to a dot on the back. That' s not a place where someone tried to install a strap button as you mention. It's actually a wooden dowel that inserts through the body into the neck for added strength. Over time the wood will expand and contract under the finish in different ways and the peg will be revealed. Some of those were also screws with a wooden plug installed over a countersunk hole.

  • how the hell can you talk about gretsch players and not even mention chet??? cmon...

  • HEY I HAVE THAT SAME LIND 6 AMP NICE

  • would you review the brian may red special signiture guitar?

  • does this guitar ship free online even if i'm from a different country? as in not the states

  • David Taub is awsome!

  • ive got a modern one of these and it kicks ass/especially as it now has an emg81 in it and the strings go through the body increasing the sustain tenfold and losing the crappy bigsby

  • absolute agree, I just got mine 4 month ago, and fuck, this corvette it's a real mamma, the body is solid and the sustain is as the fat heavy gibson les paul deluxe from 70s

    r we happy? :D

  • I'm not sure this is quite the same corvette, but can someone give me some details about the patrick stump one, neck shape, weight, all that?

    Thanks.

  • You all may call me crazy, but I think this guitar's Headstock, it's the most beautiful I've ever seen...

  • Wat about Malcom Young, forget about him?

  • rory gallagher used one aswell!

  • the way he says brian setzer makes it sounds like he hates him

  • Wow, good to know that any snarky witticism that I make will be snapped up and used for terrible comebacks that I'm sure would make a six year old laugh. You could've just held your tongue and not inserted your EXTREMELY necessary (note: the sarcasm is spread pretty thick here) opinion about a genre of music.

Sure Jazz Fusion isn't obscure, but I'd say it's generally more unknown than death metal. I'd also say that bragging about listening to said genre makes you feel oh so good. Elitist Troll.

  • bennieman11

what do you think of John Cage ?

or Steve Reich, two of the best composers of the 20th century, they don't compose music in a strictly musical way, instead they made music that sounded good to them,

you may have noticed Old people complain about metal as an annoying whine, or young people call classical a boring drone, for example, know why that it, MUSIC is a point of view to the individual, id advise you learnt that sooner rather than later.

  • Alright, what is music then Mr. Elitist Prick? I hope it's okay if I call you that. I'd say it's a befitting title to give to anyone who is so ignorant and closed minded as to dismiss other people's music as "not real". You make me laugh, "it's a shame jazz fusion is so underrated". You sound like a cunt I know who thinks he's better than everyone who thinks he's better than other people simply because he listens to little-known artists and obscure genres. tl;dr: Fuck off.

  • Whoops, stumbled over my own typing. Bahaha.

  • Guthrie has been noted by a few magazines as "The World's Best Guitar Player". He can literally play anything, amazing guitarist. Great instructor as well.

  • Ok mr musically closed minded........-_-

    Is this better?

U say jonas brothers, i say Brett Garsed

If your one of the 8% still listening to real music copy and paste this to three other vids.

  • actually thats kind of closed minded, pop means popular, which means wider appeal or having an influence on popular culture. The beatles were pop, the stones were pop, led zeppelin was pop...all those bands wrote pop songs. Undeniably. Those groups greatly affected youth of the time. as did anything afterward be it soundgarden or nirvana, tupac or the fuckin n'sync or what have you. There is music for everyone and for every kind of mood. Music speaks to everyone.

  • who care's !

  • horrible. tune it first. and play something decent. also, playing it through a line 6 amp shows us nothing of how it sounds. Play it through a tube amp of the same period.

  • U say jonas brothers, i say Necrophagist

u say miley cyrus, i say The Faceless

u say britney spears, i say Decrepit Birth

  • all those bands you listed SUCK BALLS

  • my guess is ur saying that because you have never heard of the bands or ur pissed because u like the bands that i am dissin

  • actually none of those, I listen to real rock, not pop punk crap, to me, linking park is as shitty as jonas brothers ... have you ever heard of Led Zeppelin, Cream, Free, Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Freddie King, Black Sabbath, Rush, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc ??

  • those bands are a mixture of both rock and punk so maybe you should have a little diversity.. go suck a cock

  • sorry for being an asshole, i was in a pretty bad mood ... i digged green day and blink in my kid days :)

  • hmmm I wish he would demo these guitars through a good tube amp.

  • That;s a shitty amp

  • add a little gain? i'd hate to hear you crank it up!

  • it have a pretty fat neck, with the wide fingerboard MOK, south park spirit

  • DaveRingle ur a freak how can it just burst out,ur typing it you freak!!

  • Originaly a corvette was a ship )))

  • SHUT UP YOU FAT PIECE OF HAPPY AMERICAN SHIT!

im sorry that just bursted out!

  • wow, someone has a grudge against the world! go away and watch some depressing 'how to kill yourself' videos

  • Please start tuning before these vids.

  • please don't make stupid comments

  • I'm sorry, do you enjoy watching videos of people playing out of tune guitars? I have no issue with what they're doing, in fact I find these videos pretty interesting, but the guitars do tend to be out of tune.

  • Didn't Malcom Young use a Gretsch to?

  • yes

  • I want the jag-stang in the background

  • That Jag-Stang is an ugly load. Why can't they make pickguards that look good? It's not too hard to make one that follows the shape of the guitar.

Also, I wasn't impressed by the way it played the one time I got to try it. Just me, though.

  • Sounds like blues :D It's a great guitar.

  • thats the worst spot i've ever seen for a strap thing

  • Jason Lee ought to be doing ALL the guitar reviews, this guy doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. I'm a beginner myself but I can tell when someone doesn't know what the hell they're talking about.

  • David Taub is incredibly guitar smart. Being a beginner, you're excused.

  • no he nos wat he talking about and jason only does surf guitar reveiws

  • How mutch does it cost.??

  • 5000+

  • new ones are 625.00us dollars

  • but you can get a normal gretsch corvette, it even got more pickups and for about 600 euros (i think 700 dollar)

  • that s right I got mine for that :)

  • "backpiece"??? Its called a Tailpiece, you idiot

  • you make me pissed of, why the fuck do you use a fucking line6 amp?? they only make bad guitars sounds "good" and good guitars sounds reaaly bad.

  • please just give up. wat a loser.

  • you should make a vid of the gretsch stump o matic!!!!!!patrick stump rules!!!!!!!!!!!

  • would like that, too^^

  • hey if anyone knows. im considering getting the bo diddley signature guitar. does anyone know where i can get a case for it? thanks

  • guitar center

  • malcolm young uses gretsch guitars right

  • Yeah he does

  • He needs to get a fender tube amp to give that Gretsch justice...

  • rory gallagher used this guitar too

  • He got it very cheap, yet it was one of his personal favourites!

  • Hilton Valentine, Lead of the Animals played a Gretsch Tennessean. Spelling of Tenn???

  • OMG I couldnt last a day with that guy he seems as if he is on too many antidepresants.

  • I dissagree its not very bright at all.Sounds poor.

  • ya that 4 2 kinda says f the 3 3 man pshhh.. goin solo man doin it my own way mannn. 2 4 punk rock.. lol

  • Who prefers that blue/green guitar in the background?

  • it's fender japanese kurt kobain designed guitar really kwl the guy in the video has done a review on it

  • it is called a jag stang

  • i know

  • what a pile of pooh!

  • This was supposed to be gretsch's answer tovthe gibson les paul junior...apparently didnt work out too well this guitar only stayed around for a couple years from about '61 to maybe '64. The first one had a peppermint twist finish...you guys have to see the gretsch princess which is supposed to be the 'female' model of this...its pretty awesome actually even more rare too.

  • this guitar is the gretsch from hell :D

    reminds me of an SG

  • yeah! beautiful!

  • i think most of the tone and sounds you are getting are coming from the line 6 amp. I mean if you demo a guitar you shouldn't play it with an amp that was designed to sound like other famous tones

  • Wow, w/ distortion it's kinda like Niravana sound to me...

  • nice guitar but i cant live with one pickup

  • That's why you go with the two pickup model that was introduced in '65.

  • Rory Gallagher also owned one....bullfrog blues!!!

  • My friend got one of those from a band called Newsboys I think, it's nice
