  • nature saying, Damn google can i get no privacy.

  • 1:16 CAMELS - CHAD they are DROMEDARY :D

  • @kleyfromdahood Yes, they are. They're one-humped Dromedary camels, not two-humped Bactrian camels. They're still all camels.

  • @mkbarth "Dromedary camel" so...

  • at 2:22 look really hard i bet ted nugent is somewhere crouching behind a rock!!!

  • so, probably back in 2006, or whenever this was first released, i was in school, and our teacher showed us this in geography class, in looking around north africa, or the middle east somewhere, a classmate and i, managed to locate a fleet of tanks! all parked, now i tell you, they were clearly tanks, could see the barells and the turets. but its funny, since then, i havent even been able to find screen shots of it, CREEEPY

  • @Giles4200 they all moved to the gulf.

  • they were all taken by helicopter right above because you can see the grass is like distorted and wavy in the pictures and all the animals are always running away

  • @supskier Good eye! All the pictures in this vid are hi-res photos from low-altitude planes. Expand the description under the vid for locations. They’re all in Google Earth. On the left side in Google Earth, under Layers / Gallery / National Geographic Magazine, put a check next to Africa Megaflyover. Red airplane icons will appear in Africa where all the hi-res images are.

  • How people find these I dont know :P Like the Oryx in the namibian desert.... I like how they cleared the picture there to see them

  • @iThnake Yeah, I sure didn't find it without help. On the left side in Google Earth, under Layers / Gallery / National Geographic Magazine, put a check next to Africa Megaflyover. Red airplane icons will appear in Africa where all those hi-res images are.

  • so wheres the lion?

  • @jimmyvbs The lion is sleeping tonight.

  • I dont understand the point to that...?? We'v all seen those animals and know ware they come from very nice but whats the Biggy ????

  • @megasparky4 I don't know. Google Earth is mostly satellite photos from space. But ,you can see these animals as clearly as if you were looking from a plane.

  • @mkbarth Googled from the web

Most people are surprised to learn that Google have more than one source for the imagery. they have collect it via airplane and satellite, but also hot air balloons, model airplanes - even kites.

  • @funfly3 I knew about images from airplanes, and of course from the top of moving cars. But, I didn't know about balloons, model planes and kites. Thanks.

  • A-Wimoweh-a-wimoweh,

    A-Wimoweh-a-wimoweh,

    A-Wimoweh-a-wimoweh,

    A-Wimoweh-a-wimoweh.

  • @mkbarth Are those real Oryx's

  • @bennett1724 Yes.

  • Then how come its not in North America or anywhere

Do they only do it in Africa

  • @bennett1724 Yeah, I don't know where else they might have flown over and taken high-res pictures.

  • @mkbarth why do they make squares in the middle of nowhere to see clear

Does google earth want to see some animals

  • @bennett1724 Yeah. Most of the pictures in Google Earth are from satellites. But, in Africa a lot of high-res pictures from an airplane were added in. In Google Earth under Layers / Gallery / National Geographic Magazine, click on Africa Megaflyover to see all these locations highlighted.

  • @mochamonkey99 it's not animals, it's their shadows look flat lol

  • I have never heard of Oryx lol

  • mkbarth ive seen like five of your videos where do you find all this interesting stuff and how many videos have you made? and can you tell me how to type somthing if you make a video?

  • Hey, alexp9ify. Its not hard to find stuff if you know the trick. There are web sites where others have already collected their interesting finds in Google Earth. Like gearthhacks or bbs.keyhole. Click on (more info) next to the vid for details on these. To see more vids, click on mkbarth above. To see new ones click on Subscriptions on your channel page.

  • what's the name of the song?

  • @95serialkiller The song is The Lion Sleeps Tonight by the Tokens

  • Loved this video! I love google earth. It's still hard to grasp all of the technology we have today. And you look back 20-30 years ago...It's crazy!

  • Hey, cheerregsta333. On the left side in Google Earth, under Layers / Gallery / National Geographic Magazine, put a check next to Africa Megaflyover. Red airplane icons will appear in Africa where all those hi-res images are.

  • fake!!!

  • Hey, Miikkeldk. Yeah, Google Earth is made up of lots of photos from different satellites. Some pictures here and there were taken by airplanes. All the pictures in this vid are hi-res photos from low-altitude planes. Theyre in Google Earth and you can see them yourself. Click on (more info) next to the vid for locations.

  • Wow! impresionante

  • ... And this is my camel, his name is Chad

  • 106,739th Viewer, 151 Comenter, 172th rater. (me)

  • Woo Hoo!!!! angelsantana007. Thanks!

  • Africa Megafyover is great. They've starded to make Australia Megaflyover and another in NW USA

  • Ok, NOT FAKE!! Those look pretty real to me...even if they were cardboard cutouts...and weren't moving. I begrudgingly acknowledge that there is a strong possibility that these are actual animals that will be eventually go on to a lifetime of being consumed by tigers, lions, hyenas, African wild dogs, crocodiles, jackals, cheetahs, pythons, annacondas, and a whole host of pleasantries. Round 1 belongs to you, mkbarth...if that's your real name.

  • its funny, the camels look like carbored but out but its just there shadows :S

  • nice!

  • you can zoom in that close to google earth?

i thought you could only be a few hundred feet of the ground before it got all blury.

  • Hey, Arawin1 . Yeah, Google Earth is made up of lots of photos from different satellites. Some of the pictures are better than others. So, some places look sharp, others blurry. And, some pictures here and there were taken by airplanes. All the pictures in the vid are hi-res photos from low-altitude planes. Theyre in Google Earth and you can see them just as close and sharp. Click on (more info) next to the vid for locations.

  • Yeah, you are right, taniabebe. All the pictures in this vid were put in Google Earth on purpose. They are all hi-res photos from an airplane. They are part of National Geographic's Africa Megaflyover.

  • OK... I thought I recognized the photos from a NatGeo spread a year or so ago. So you're saying Google Earth inserted these photos like "easter eggs"? I knew you couldn't zoom THAT close using Google Earth. Interesting.

  • Those are gembok not oryx.

  • Yeah, Thamnophissirtalis. The Gemsbok and Oryx are very hard to tell apart from the air. I don't know. National Geographic tagged this picture as Oryx. It's part of their Africa Megaflyover series. How can you tell the difference?

  • It turns out that I was mistaken gemsbok are in fact a kind of oryx.

    Oops,

  • thats so cool lol

  • How do you get that moving icon on your chanel? plz tell me

  • Aah sorry, ruiccc100. We used to be able to upload animated GIFs for our profile pics. But now YouTube won't allow any more new ones.

  • im hungry now :)

  • lol sheeps!

  • Are these special area pictures on google earth like the National Geographic ones?

  • Yes, alexparker100. On the left side in Google Earth, under Layers / Gallery / National Geographic Magazine, put a check next to Africa Megaflyover. Red airplane icons will appear in Africa where all those hi-res images are.

  • I love your vids :)

  • i seen the camels in chad. it is really odd that in an extreamly low res area there is a high res good pic there randomly with lots of camels and a few guys sitting around. reall, really, weird.

  • Hey, Beelzebub2000. Yeah, National Geographic did a Hi-Res, low-altitude flyover and added all their pictures into Google Earth. On the left side in Google Earth, under Layers / Gallery / National Geographic Magazine, put a check next to Africa Megaflyover. Red airplane icons will appear in Africa where all those hi-res images are.

  • how can you get so close to the ground to see this animal i tought that there was a limit

  • Hey, elmonte18. Yeah, Google Earth is made up of lots of photos from different satellites. Some of the pictures are better than others. So, some places look sharp, others blurry. And, some pictures here and there were taken by airplanes. All the pictures in the vid are hi-res photos from low-altitude planes. Theyre in Google Earth and you can see them just as close and sharp.. Click on (more info) next to the vid for locations.

  • Cool, Thanks 5/5 Points

  • Great videos you have. I enjoyed watching those beautiful animals.

    Saludos

  • when will be google mars?? hehe..

  • Fake. I've seen that exact camel picture before Google earth was established. I thought it seemed odd how many rarities you could find on such a massive earth with such ease.

  • Hey, zesocialist. All of this is in Google Earth for anyone to see. Look under (more info) next to the vid for locations. They are part of a photo-aircraft flyover collection. You can see the whole collection in Google Earth by looking under Layers on the left side of GE and then under Gallery / National Geographic Magazine. Put a check next to Africa Megaflyover. Not hard to find, if you know the trick.

  • You need this warning on your video.

warning video may cause massive headache. I should sue you lol.

  • You can see the aircraft's shadow in 3 photos...

    ngm.nationalgeographic.

    com/ngm/megaflyover/index.html

  • Thank you for your amazing video. Its shows me one thing: we have a wonderful planet.

  • Too bad we don't take care of it.

  • Earth's not all that great in the scheme of things. I'd rather live on Nebulon-5. They have TWO suns and like 18 moons and a work day is only like 4 hours long there. Lunch included! Stupid Nebulonians don't even know how good they have it. *seethes*

  • directions the animals in google earth:

  • Awsome vid man

  • Isnt the buffalos realy yaks.

  • Hey, craxyman556. No, yaks are long-haired and hang out around the Himalayas. These are Cape Buffalo of Africa. Wikipedia has some good pictures if you search on each.

  • Awesome!

Thanks for posting. I rated, commented and subscribed.

I love animals and this is just great.

Maybe you could give me some feedback about my first video. Thanks

  • pal, this is fanastic....

  • the sheep in South Africa are still there to this day -.- ;P i guess they havent updated that part of the world yet for a few years..

  • Hi you are awesome!

    Try this one 15°17'54.71"N, 19°25'46.98"E. ^^

  • What is this, it just puts a big X on the earth !

  • Hey, alio122000. Zoom in. It's a high-res picture of a well. It has four pulleys, with four tracks for pulling the ropes. The dark patches making an X are wet ground where water has been pulled up.

  • HOLLY SHIT THERE IS A PERSON ON A CAMEL!!! o.0

  • Nice, very nice.

  • really interisteng all the animals moving and being captured, but still very logial.

i wonder how you can find those miniature spots on our globe...

  • Hey, MD11pushback. You can see these high-res inserts in Google Earth by clicking on Layers / Gallery / National Geographic Magazine / African Megaflyover.

  • ty man its working now :) nice video

  • the coordinates does not work

  • Hey, weed1100. Hmmmm, it seems OK. Copy and paste these coordinates into the 'Fly To' field under 'Search':

    15°17'40.40"N, 20°28'47.78"E

Or you can type them in with spaces instead of the special characters:

    15 17 40.40 N, 20 28 47.78 E

  • How do I write the coordinates in Google Earth ?? Please explain ^^

  • Hey, EnRandigMygga. Here is a good video that explains entering locations. Scroll down just a bit to see how to enter coordinates without the special characters.

    earth.google.*com/intl/en/userguide/v4/ug_findplaces.html

    (delete the *)

  • Thanks. Very nice of you =)

  • that were no camels it were dromedaris (that's how we call them in dutch i don't know the english word for them) camels have 2 bults and these animals just 1

  • Good catch, ncwarrior. Dromedary camel starts with "D" = 1 hump. Bactrian camel starts with "B" = 2 humps.

  • omg i know there not but almost every animal looks like a cut out

  • Sort of. They're a paste in. Not the vid, in Google Earth. On top of the regular low-res satellite pictures, they added a bunch of hi-res photos that were taken from an airplane. Look under (More info) next to the vid for locations on all of them.

  • 10°54'13.75"N 19°56'6.25"E

  • Pretty cool

  • the pieces of the territory which have these animals on it are in special quality.. the makers from google earth did that extra, didn't they?

  • Right, babyschnecke7. You can locate them in Google Earth by putting a check next to Africa Megaflyover. It's under Layers / Gallery / National Geographic Magazine.

  • FAKE FAKE FAKE

  • Ouch, that hurts! But, these hi-res pictures really are in Google Earth. See for yourself. Look under (more info) next to the vid for locations.

  • And some more 15°17'55.28"N, 19°25'47.36"E 11°20'14.88"S, 40°21'36.41"E

  • That is awesome !! But I don't think there's any satellite can take such a high resolution picture~~Even the one using by Bush.. Thank you for sharing!

  • You're right, wangsishuo. The high-resolution pictures in Google Earth were taken from an airplane. Here is their web site:

    ngm.nationalgeographic.

    com/ngm/megaflyover/index.html

  • i thought so, too.. look at 15°17'55.28"N, 19°25'47.36"E from STCodes on the top, there is a man over the black hole and he looks up in the sky!

  • sweet.

  • that's amazing!!! i don't really understand how such high-resolution pictures can be found in such random places, though.

and how did you find these?

  • Hey, eluvb. These pictures were part of a planned expedition. They put the most interesting pictures right into Google Earth exactly where each one was taken. You can make them appear in Google Earth by putting a check next to Africa Megaflyover. It's under Layers / Gallery / National Geographic Magazine. Here's their web site:

    ngm.nationalgeographic.

    com/ngm/megaflyover/index.html

  • At first i thought the camel's shadow were the camels I was like "What are they stepping on"

  • but u can see they took this pic in a plane

the guys in chad are looking up

  • Yeah, wrewres. All these close-up, high-res pictures were taken from a plane. They flew all around Africa and had Google Earth add their pictures right where each one was taken.

  • hey this is really cool, could you please send me a message with how to make those videos? thanks;)

  • Thanks, N00bsToTheMax. I sent you a message with some notes on making Google Earth videos for YouTube.
