  • This one just like "siren song" from Alan Parsons Project transports me in so many levels. Simply magical and serene.

  • I have enjoyed listening to APP for over 36 years now and will never grow tired of his genius.

  • No one could sing this as hauntingly beautiful as Terry Sylvester (Hollies) does here.

  • Does anyone know who belongs to that beautiful feminine voice is in the background vocals?

  • @niksal570 , the girl is Jane Powell.

  • @MrMailice Many, many thanks, sir....Happy Thanksgiving!

  • This kind of beauty is lost to us now. This music, this sound, brings back memories of when my children were innocent, back before the violence and drugs and cynicism consumed our lives. I cannot hear these lyrics without weeping. I truly have been to the place "when one kind word meant more than all the love in paradise." What a world this is!

  • perfect composition...perfect compelling production...too bad most people are completely oblivious to good art.

  • This was the last song my soul mate and I shared before she was killed by a drunk driver so long ago....burned in my heart and memory....

  • With a little better composition it could have been better than Eye in the Sky. The melody is better than Eye in the Sky but really about ten years ago this was all I listened to, it has really deep meanings in my music listening I hear everything in this song. I was going through a mental collapse from a 1995 understanding of infinity. The ability to think is finite so I had to shut down thought to be able to understand. Infinity is different than fractal but very similar in its fundamentals.

  • And all thy days are trances...and all my nightly dreams...are where thy dark eye glances...and where thy footstep gleems...Don't forget this is a story by Edgar Allen Poe...

  • Parson pure genius

  • I read a quote from a famous person once that said that there are 2 things that make human existence bearable - green living things and music. This song must be what that famous person had in mind by music... so beautiful.

  • Terry Sylvester, of Hollies, is a lead vocal.

  • Music is such a fantastic gift to the human experience!

I am certainly glad to have survived my earlyer years of the 60s & 70s to now experience the technoligy that brings this stuff back to us.

Being born in 1958, many of my freinds never made it this far.

These are amazing times and I expect more wonderfull journeys ahead!

A turntable & and a Droid smart phone in the same room. Its cooool man!

  • In 1976 I was in Kenosha Wisconsin with the rock band Stray Arrow out of

Chicago. ( I worked the sound mixer) I walked into a record store and this

album was on the turntable playing. After one minute I bought the album.

Wow this was beautiful stuff. Thank you Alan Parsons. ...and to all the rest

of his following , a good night.

  • Alan Parsons Project is legend, a timeless style that will carry on through the ages

  • What a beautiful song!!! Eric was the best and is a huge loss for music.

  • Dear Mammagamma77,

You have great taste for music! TOiP is really a masterpiece!

The Alan Parsons Project has greatly influenced my life. I have listened to it since 1989. And I will never stop listening to it.

    Take care

    Fernando

  • i'm 20 years old and i come from Italy... i love this type of music...my father often listened to this one at home when i was a child...and ..now..i listen this song and i remembre my past...awesome music...sadly, today too guys don't listen to this music...cause it isn't a popular music....but i prefere alan parson than house music or other type of this one... : )

  • Never get tired of this song !! Cool vid/audio mix !

  • GRRRRRRREAT song by a GREAt artist....

  • Good job! Keep making stuff like this and one day it will become art...like today. Peace

  • Great tune for a lazy day...

  • WOW.

    I love your magic video!!!

    Thank's for sharing this ((-:

  • This song makes me simply dream and dream and believe in them. Brings me back to my initial values...

  • You would'nt know how hard it was to find this album

  • Im musics like this one is very clear to realize the whole musical influence from Pink Floyd. After all, Alan Parson was the sound engineer of that band for years.

  • @LUIZLINO17

I think honestly that it was Alan Parsons who influenced Pink Floyd, and not vice versa. The greatest album of PF is The Dark Side of the Moon, and it is not by chance that Alan worked on it.

But PF sold much more than The APP.

  • @Fernandocatan Possibly, but I think the group H.P. Lovecraft was a major influence to both. If you can find some of their instrumental pieces, you'll realize they were well ahead of their time.

  • @Fernandocatan money is not why Alan Parsons plays , he, s a true artist , not mainstream , his journey is his dream , met him in denver , he is brilliant

  • @ahitler1000

I do agree with you. I have the whole discography of Alan Parsons, and I am happy that I discovered his music when I was 17. Now I am 38 and I'm still listening to the Project.

    Ciao

    Fer

  • Really like how the song ends and fades out on that segment of the poem

  • Love it. Intro reminds me of Fripp & Eno.

  • Love this song.

  • I am transported by this song as I am by "siren song."

Eric...see you on the other side.

  • Great song! RIP Eric! With that voice you must be in heaven now...

  • You're right! Eric has a beautiful pregnant voice. But in this song is Terry Sylvester exceptionally the Lead Vocal-Singer. Thank you Eric for fantastic songs and your timeless voice. Your voice will never die, when I am listen to "Time", "The same old sun" "Ammonia Avenue" "Eye in the sky" or "Don't answer me".

  • RIP, Eric! You will live as long as we remember...and I, for one, will NEVER forget. Thank you.

  • @Mickagume

    Come in my arms, brother!

  • Goodbye Eric - Rest in Peace.... a Music without the Idea is simlply Music

  • RIP Eric Woolfson :(

  • A very interesting waay to bring Poe to life. So many have no clue of such things.

  • What a great song. What a great bunch of comments from a great bunch of eternal spirits. Forward to eternity! Alan Parsons is a voice of the inner world.

  • @jeffteach I like that phrase, "inner world." This song is intimate and private - for each person's inner world.

  • Tudo o que é de ALAN PARSON´S é bom !!!

  • Terry Sylvester of the Hollies on lead vocals......mesmerizingly beautiful voice....seriously, some of these British singers of the 70s were such geniuses!!!

  • Alan Parsons was the brain behind "The Dark Side of the Moon". Now, you know where that pulse comes from. This is england mitology.

  • You're right. bye, from Argentina.

  • Incredably beautiful lyrics in this song. I think I know the feeling they're singing about :) "..when one kind word meant more to me than all the love in paradise.." I should get to know this band better.

  • I bought this album when it came out...this song saved my life !!!!

  • Interesting. Check out National Sunday Law by Jan Marcussen sometime. God bless!!

  • It's not so much of a video as it is a shot.

But the song, I think, resonates in everyone's soul who hears it.

  • beautiful as the sound of rushing wings.....

  • every fucking day I work hard for success, money and for others..but when I hear this song, I forget this life for a moment and be able to go into myself...my english is crap sorry, would say this concerns me, really...nice

  • The first few seconds remind me of "Ripples" by Genesis.

  • One of my all time fav Parson songs.Thanks.

  • Damn, he sure could string some words together!

  • Super 5

  • good job!

  • Friend, you caught the FEELING in the song

    Thnxxx

    Odyssil

  • Beautiful!! These guys are magicians.

  • To one in paradise: a beautiful song.

A sort of message, of communication.

And that light effects seems just this, an open channel between ground and sky.

    Genius.

    5*

  • Perfect video for very deep words. Well done.

  • Absolutely stunning.

  • This song brings back memories. Thanks for sharing.

  • Very fine song from their first album, and in my opinion, the best album.

  • Good song. Lame video though. Here is part of the Poe-em: Thou wast all that to me, love, For which my soul did pine- A green isle in the sea, love, A fountain and a shrine, All wreathed with fairy fruits and flowers, And all the flowers were mine. Ah, dream too bright to last! Ah, starry Hope! that didst arise But to be overcast! A voice from out the Future cries, "On! on!"- but o'er the Past (Dim gulf!) my spirit hovering lies Mute, motionless, aghast!
  • I love this song, I listen to it a zillion times a month. This video clip is truly fantastic ! thanks for posting.

  • @urbania70 Trivial?

  • @WomackPhotoKCMO The comment was referring to the video which, based essentially on a single frame, doesn't render justice to the complexity of the original track.
