@kramsmad8 : thanks for the suggestion. unfortunately all I found is a very low quality extracted from this "video" (sound mono without treble and dynamic)
@timnick79 thanks, I had no problem to get the mp3 from the youtube file. indeed, the quality is very poor, monophonic, with no treble and a very low dynamic
This was the tour that defined them as sensationally spectacular act. I saw this in brussels and frankfurt, earlier that year. I had never seen anything like that before and neither did anyone else. All 3 of them had reached a stage of perfection at this point and knew exactly where he was at all times.. Carl was a sight unto himself because he finally figured out his niche and played it like it was the last time he would ever play. The word amazing comes to mind..
another note,,,with the nice, elp, his own band. keith emerson always closed the show with "thank you, good night". very polite, charming. then all hell broke loose with the encores!!!
Very interesting to hear how similar Emo's soloing in Aquatarkus is to what he played on the triple live album! We all take WBMFTTSTNE as 'the one'... but it was actually different every night.... genius...;c)
Wow! I was in the audience for this. I even have the ticket stub! I remember there was a terrible ice storm in New York that day and the show was nearly cancelled. I also remember that during "Silent Night", they used the lighting to make it look like it was snowing on Greg Lake. An unbelievable night (especially for a 14 year old kid),
Hey dude...that was not a trick of the lights...they were dropping artifiicial snow from the rafters at the front of the stage! It was all over the people sitting in the front orchestra seats. Funny how people perceived one event in different ways!
@tarkusnj You probably had better seats than me. But then again, I dropped THC that night so I'm surprised I can remember it at all. BTW, it was 38 years ago tonight! God I feel old!
@2old2Rock I went to both nights, 17th & 18th and had floor seats about half way back. I took a psychedelic myself the first night and remember a bunch of people helping to push my VW bug out of a snowed in parking space around the corner from the Garden. When they all gave it the final heave -ho and I was out of the space, I still remember thinking "cool, I hope I can drive this thing" I was so spaced out...
Wonderful...!

I was there as well.
The recording sounds like stereo to me and I wonder what recorder was used.
