Alex is trying to have an american accent for the movie, he might be faking the accent for the interview because it's difficult to just randomly pick up accents for acting. Maybe he didn't want to drop his accent for shooting.

I heard that Christian Bale does the same thing. If he has an American accent in a film, he will do all the interviews in the American accent. The same if he does a movie with his natural accent. Maybe Alex is trying that out too.

A lot of actors continue to use their unnatural accents while they're still filming. It would be easy to backtrack in your progress if you stop using it and use your natural accent. Plus, it's good practice.

As you can see, he's giving the interview on set so he probably switches between accents..not on purpose obviously. I can't imagine having to switch back and forth like that. But I like his accent American too =). He can speak whatever accent as long as I can stare at him, haha.

i think alex is faking his accent in the interview part. i just think where he's quite young and has lived in america for a few yaers now hes picked up on the accent a little. some things he says sound english but other things sound american.

@MakenzieSweet He's on set, in the middle of filming. He's probably in "American accent mode" and doesn't want to lose that groove by switching back and forth between British and American accents. Doing different accents can be harder than it looks.
