I don't know many things about fingerstyle music and his leaders, but i had the chance to listen to the song so many times that I'm really sure about one thing: that's the best cover i've ever seen...perfect sound (even with that camera :P ), perfect harmonics, perfect time....amazing! Good job man!
@dirtystrings It was in july 2005 issue of Acoustic Guitar magazine. The back issue is $4.95 (and likely a bit of shipping). That beats stropes because this song is only available in a $40 book (plus ship)
It's fine and sound like it should for what it is; a laminated top, parlor sized guitar. Fit and finish are very good. Play in a show is fine if you are looking for a parlor guitar sound, but may (will) need to mike (no on board electronics). I can help you more if you tell me more about what type of playing and/or position you need to fill in a show.
I don't know what's on that guitar. I'd guess 12's? Does not really matter much to me (within limits). Although if someone can turn me on to strings that help reduce finger noise I'd appreciate it. Maybe some of those extended life coated things? But I need bright as possible as I only play with flesh.
Thanks, I just bought one and it has those cheep Chinese strings. Really cutting into my fingers. I''m going to try Elixer custom lights. They are bright sounding and teflon coated for long life. Check out their web site for gauges. GREAT PLAYING!!!
awsome cool. well MH is is the best who ever lived. and you play this song better then anyne i have seen on you-tube to be honest. repost a vid, i bet ur allot better at it now, lol u still in ur p jays.
Issue - July 2005 Acoustic Guitar. It was a long time back that I learned the piece before I played it on youtube. I didn't refresh my memory or play it much until the recording, and actually left out a bit of coloring. A slight altering of the "A" section with a higher note let ring with each repeated phrase. I just picked up my sons guitar and did it after a bit of warming up. After sending it to youtube something sounded a touch flat and that's when the "Arr shit" light came on. :-)
Killer work dude!!!

I didn't recognize the title, this is one of my favorite MH songs! You've got a very easy, natural feel, and the harmonics sound great! Very cool...

I was thinking to buy a microphone apart and put on it. what do you think about it?
echybiagio 3 years ago
If you need volume, yes mike it, or install a pickup. A good pickup is less money than a mike. Good to excellent mikes have a pretty high cost.

You Definitely did the slapped harmonics thingie better than anyone here in YT covering this tune. All the harmonics were spot on! Great!!
LOL The PJ's are a great touch!

Well done, you even have Mikey's mannerisms down - and played like a tribute to Pierre himself. Very impressive.
