I remember fox, the wb, upn, and nickelodeon were prominent channels for cartoons but now their replaced with garbage. CTN only has a few shows that are okay but it's starting to die down too. If i had to watch superman I would rather watch Superman The Animated Series he wasn't too strong or too weak from my impressions of the show. I l like anime and western animation but even I gotta admit that no ones coming up with freash ideas anymore in the united states.
I really like anime and western animation. But I have to say ever since the 80's and 90's ended western animators have pretty much dropped the ball so I started to prefer anime over the other. I admit the only series that came out in 2000-2011 that i like were young justice megas xlr, samurai jack, justice league, the new tmnt 2003 and batman gotham night and one year later were good but western writers have started to drop the ball. One of the co-creators of superman was canadian.
You know, it really bugs me that so many people think Superman is boring. I get eye rolls and surprised "really?"s every time I say he's my favorite character ever. We get "He's too powerful to be interesting" and "Goku is stronger than him" from the same set of people saying he's dull. You know what? Superman isn't boring. The Clark / Superman dichotomy makes him a fascinating character, and his powers just make him cooler. After all, who else can push a falling 3000 ton moon back into orbit?
Superman Will always be the Greatest Hero because he is the Ultimate Good Guy he is the person we want as are Saviour and every time I See or Think of Superman I get a Good Heartwarming Feeling of that there is a Hero Ready to Save us.
Ye know what we need? A (not Smallville) version of Superman that's weaker, knows about Superman already but happened to come along after everyone knew about the general idea of the character. Not just a Superman that was born strong, put on tights and became everyone's hero, but one that had to work at it, with tragedy and the sincere belief that he would never be a hero. Just because the current version is too smug and naive. We need one that was a normal man, but became a Superman.
Honestly i like both anime and normal cartoons but i watch anime alot more. That's just because good American cartoons have pretty much dried up. I used to love watching shows like Gargoyles and spider man when i was little. Now most of them are about some kind of talking animal trying to make a joke every 2 seconds in the show. And the people obsessed with Japan annoy me so much. If it's in Japanese it automatically beats anything and everything.
@Shuyin6393 I can respect where you're coming from, though I cannot totally agree. I mean a side from "Ghost in the Shell" a lot of it is ether random or has themes and stories I cannot get into, And I disagree if it's in Japanese it rocks, I mean...I've seen a lot of garbage in Japanese, lol.
And yes a lot of American cartoons these days suck, which is why I prefer the cartoons I grew up with and classics like Popeye.
Oh the part where i said about Japanese beating everything I should've put quotes around. That was ment for people who would choose Japanese over english without even looking at the english.
@xxGalacticGeminixx "I mean a side from "Ghost in the Shell" a lot of it is ether random or has themes and stories I cannot get into" What about Hayao Miyazaki? Studio Ghibli films are really good. An anime I recommend especially if you're a fan of superhero comics is Tiger and Bunny, which is a love letter to American comic books even in the art style
@Elementa2006 Well I like Spirited Away and a few of those movies. But I have to say with all the horrid fans and some of the anime I watched, I just don't like it. I think Foamy's rant on the subject more or less sums up my feelings.
@xxGalacticGeminixx "But I have to say with all the horrid fans and some of the anime I watched" The same can be said about fans of American cartoons who won't stop spewing anti-anime rants and some of the shows that become popular today that think that any toilet humor is automatically funny, so both sides has its good and bad sides. So I don't think lumping an entire genre and its fanbase because some of its fans are jerks is really fair.
Listen I'm all for freedom of speech and I admit things have been going south. But I tell you I still stand behind my country and the principals it was founded upon. And from your words and your profile, I can assume you obviously don't know the first thing about Americans. And unless you studied America from wherever it is in the Netherlands you hail from, I don't think you should be making that claim. Not to mention your own conflicts of interest.
I could go into a longwinded debate with you here. But this is not the proper place to do so. But suffice to say that the whole American history is full of hypocrisy. Anyway lets spare everyone else the debate and move on.
Ok and btw, so is Japanese history, but I'm sure the Ainu people, Manchukuo, the Nanjing Massacare and the true reasons for Pearl Harbor are convienantly absent from your memory. Anyway I think it's best we just drop it and you not comment on this video anymore
You people are right. Even though we need animated adult humor some of the time, a lot of the new shows lately really take it to far. These days, we need heroes like Superman and Bugs Bunny to enlighten us in these dark times.
I know, you don't see too much of the Looney Tunes ether, but I think it's because they're being picked off one by one for being violent or offesnsive...meh I don't get people sometimes.
Archaeologists find a Tyrannosaurus trapped in ice at Siberia. They transport the ice and brought to a museum where it kept frozen and is was displayed. The ice starts melting and the monster comes to life! The monster destroys the building on Lois Lane. Clark Kent changes into Superman flies back to the museum before he stops Lois Lane. Superman throws a telephone pole at the monster tying it up and the monster tries to eat Lois Lane and Superman stops her eaten by the monster.
Ah you mean the "Family Guy"-type humor. I know what you mean, only animated shows I can watch today are Futurama and South Park. The rest ether suck or have overstayed their welcome.
Well I like the classics it is kind of refreshing to watch them occasionally, especially seeing the Superman cartoons of the 40's.
actually i was talking more about Super Jail and the Squidbillies. basically the kinda show that u'd have to be high to like or even follow. family guy did popularize that style, but some ppl just took it too far. muchless the crappy animation style. all the superhero shows past and present have wonderful animation style.
