I use a pick for most everything I do. But most of the stuff I do is matching the stroke patterns up with my guitarist. So for most punk songs, I think a pick just makes it easier. But if your playing something more classic, like say RUSH, then finger picking is way to go.

But seriously, Nice job. Kept the timing perfect.

nice. i wud suggest after the refrain, instead of going all the way from the 4th fret on the d string to the 9th fret, just go down to the 4th fret on the g string, then play that where you play the 9th fret. its easier for me that way

Song is played with a pick, so this doesn't sound entirely correct, but good job. I don't understand how the beginning sounded so perfect when you were playing the string open, when it's obviously played on fret 9... however, good job.

It probably looked like I was plucking the A string but I was definitley on D- Fret 9

Very nice. Your plucking is especially good. Obviously its opinion, i think the 1:20 part sounds better on the E and A strings, but its a lot of unnecessary moving around. Meh. 5 star, very good.

i play my 6 string guitar with my fingers i keep hitting other strings when i use a pick is this just a beginner problem or is it a me problem?

Since you play a 6 string guitar getting used to a pick would be a good idea, however there are a lot of guitarists who don't use picks and choose to play classical style. As for you hitting other strings with a pick, Its a beginner problem, just keep practicing and don't strum too hard.

I would have to agree with you. That was my first bass and it costed 200 dollars of my hard earned money. I now use a Geddy Lee Fender Jazz bass which I also bought myself. I have yet to put up videos with it. But this video was from when I was just a starter.

Who says you can't use a pick for bass? It produces a different sound which can be preferred for certain songs/feels.

Well, yes you can pick a bass if you would like to. In fact many proffesional bassists prefer a pick. But I have tried both and come to the conclusion that using your fingers is easier, produces a better sound and is also the more proper way of doing it.
