This is the story of this brick call the Playbook, yoy have Skype but you cannot make a call. The TV App is not lodding. Yes soon you will have games, hahaha. just like they told us that soon we were going to have email. that was last year. it is now 2012 and still no emai, NO Skype, No Netflix , NO Hulu p, NO kindle reader or Nook reader and on and on. just buy an Android tablet or and IPad and you will not have to do all this shit just to play Angry birds.
@Tom2736 Man a lot has changed with the playbook, All the 3 Angrybirds series is available in the app world. Netflix and hulu can be accessed by a service called playon. And for Skype we (1000+) playbook users sent a mail each to Skype CEO & VP :) TV app works fine :)
@weishin92 The video chat option has been disabled in beta OS 2.0, so skype will do only text chat. They say when the official OS release it would support the android Skype.
@lovishmusicrocker hahaha cant complain, bought it 6 months back. I've got 2 playbooks . I think there are planning to release a new model that may be the reason for price cuts. The 16 & 32 gb versions are sold out :)
Hey I'm trying to download the kindle app from amazon but it doesn't seem to be working on my playbook. Do i need an android player for that or something?
@LimeTrip Thanks. Is there a possibility with the new BBX or whatever the new terminology is that RIM is going to adopt coming February 2012, that Android apps will be working on all Playbooks. Wondering if Skype Video will work then?
I need to know as I am planning to buy this Playbook this Boxing day.
@Pantopesakha BBX will definitely let you run android apps, but it wont give you access to android market. Developers of android apps will have to submit their apps to RIM, which will then be converted to PlayBook format. I feel android skype is not going to support video. Well to get the exact picture we will have to wait and watch.
@gmoney2775 Just have to wait a little while longer, good news is dingleberry is here and the dev are working to get netflix to work, they got hulu working already.
@LimeTrip my playbook is 1.07.3312 version and whenever i turn on android app player it just turns off then if i try again it just freezes and then i restart what do i do
@iknight8 This android app player is a little old & dont work with the latest OS. If youre using 2.0 then u dont need AP, you can install converted android apps directly.
@SuperMvickers Kindle is availabe and can be installed in the android app player. Make sure you don't update you playbook software. If you do the android app player will not work, and sadly we can't reinstall it.
@jcsf3 I'm not sure, I've not tried it. Its difficult to find apps that work, the thing is you need to sideload it one by one. So I've got no time. If i get any info on this ill keep you posted.

@manpreetsalooja You can upgrade to 2.0 but i dont recommend it as RIM clearly stated users not to upgrade to 2.0 as it was for developers.

@inspectorgadget05 It remains the same, android app player is just another app and it does not need a lot of power to run.
