Thanks to everyone sharing everything IAN THORNLEY! Here in the U.S. diehards like myself are deprived of his genius and the personal interview stuff makes his art a little more tangible.
Actually it's fucking sad that Ian isn't more recognized. Listen to his guitar chops for christ's sake. Meanwhile, millions of Americans can only think of Nickleback when they're asked about Canada.
Maybe some of the smarter Americans like Rush and the Tragically Hip but apart from them Nickleback is the biggest. And THAT is fucking sad.
"i think that Lucifer's involvement with Ian limits him musically and what he puts out on an album."
I think jamming my hands in a blender and pushing a knitting needle deep inside each ear hole would "limit" me less as a musician. I saw Jesus Kroaker + Nicklehack open for BW
Man! I gots t' learn me some o that chickin pickin. Smokin playing. Just reminds me of why I'm here in my living room and you are on stage. Great playing.
that is Mr. Thornley at his best......WITHOUT Chad Kroeger.......i think that Chad's involvement with Ian limits him musically and what he puts out on an album.
BTW...the "east coast" version, or original version of MB is WAY better....not too radio friendly, but has hints of the bells and whistles of Big Wreck.
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME... solo and what was even better was I saw it in person ...this was a great reminder of an amazing night .......Love your talent Ian........

in 98 at The Pyramid in 'Peg: JK isn't worthy to carry Ian's picks, let alone homogenize and FUK up his music....
Fek Yoo JK.
Him and Celine: Canada's Contribution To The Apocalypse.
