this is beautiful. I have thought about doing a steampunk keyboard but actually having it as mechanical to type on as a typewriter, ie you really need to push the keys down, unfortunately my electronics skills are weak..
Unbelievably cool :oD best steampunk mouse I have seen yet! I'm making a datamancer style keyboard. This has given me some great ideas now to change the direction I was going in & add a twist. Awesome stuff mate :o)

it looks like you used a standard optical computer mouse as a base so i was wondering if you had to modify anything for the thumb button or if it came with 3 buttons and a scroll wheel stock?

Yeah, it glides well enough on normal surfaces. That iron slab is really rough...

excellent, looks great, awesome idea too.
Just a quick question, does it glide ok? it sounded a bit scratchy on the video when you move it, but that could have been the surface it was on.
