@TheWrestlingMemories This episode of Raw was a turning point. First, to answer your question...I believe it is a reference to Vince McMahon being found not guilty in the steroid trials. Vince wasn't on commentary during this time. Gorilla Monsoon was on for 3 episodes, but on July 4, 1994...his adapted son, Joey Marella (legendary referee) died in a car accident. Thus, you heard and saw Jim Ross. The referee in the Anvil match was Jack Doan...Marella's replacement. He still officiates today.
