  • I was going to look this up and send it out, but I got busy. Anyway, I knew Gath would end up doing it if I didn't. Looks like I was right, huh?

  • Yep: appears the lepking beat the angel-this time!...I told him he'd fit in Oz as a flying lepking LOL, and an angel would be divine too!

  • holy crap this is the part where the munchkin is hanging!

  • I was watching tv one day and i saw a documentary on it!! They said there was no hanging but I think there was but they dont want to say it!!

  • its a fact that there was no hanging. if u buy the 2 disc dvd on the commentary a Wizard of Oz historian says it. idk why people want to believe a stupid story.

  • Maybe because Im so gulable (I hope I spelled it right) I believe alot of things!! LOL!!!

  • where, when?!?

  • Don't you just love it when the pianist in The Naked Gun starts playing this to Leslie Nielsen? :D I'd kill to have that version as a ringtone! :D

  • But Putin is back as the man behind the curtain!

  • i love this song :)

  • The best part of the movie, in my opinion. I sing this to my niece, including the coroner's part. She loves it, its her favorite song. ESPECIALLY the coroner's part. Haha. Little morbid baby...

  • She's not only merely dead, she's really most sincerely dead. That was always one of my favorite lines too LOL.

  • here is proof holywood in the 30's loved their drugs!

  • This is the best song in the whole movie. I've seen this move so many times that I lost track of how many times, but it has to be close to 1000 or better. LOL! I must be really depressed to love this song so much! :P

  • one of the best musical movies ever, Great movie and the songs are great.

  • Oh man.

I just had to watch this movie while reading Wicked last night.

I'd idiotic, now I'm sad(especially since I skipped too the end of the book..).

Ah,isn't anyone freaked out these guys are singing so happily about a murder?

  • I love the part of the song starting at 0:50 haha.

  • The Red Brick Road leads to Chuck Norris Land.

  • They're singing so happily about a dead lady's corpse O_o

  • man i'm freaking out i can't believe it's so tripyyyy!!

  • wow!! this takes me back, way back... the last time i watched this i was 8 years old and now i'm 24..

  • so cool movie! omg! a couple of ppl at my School never seen it XD

  • I'm in this play this year for the first time.

It's so fun to work on.

especially with all the little kids in it.

I put a video up of one of our rehersals from yesterday if anyone was intrested in seeing it.

  • Wow, it took me 54 years of life to see the politcal meaning within the OZ. Give me a minute to come back up for air (((gulp))

  • i love the part at time - 3:11

  • i confused i just saw wicked the musical and I understand that glinda and thr witch were friends but how come in the movie they hate each other

  • the movie the wizard of oz was made first then a writer wrote wicked as a prologue to the movie.

  • thank you

  • Actually, the movie is based on a book by L. Frank Baum (actually there was a pretty long series of Oz books), and Wicked was written as a prologue to the book... So both the movie and Wicked have the same basis, but some of the more subtle things in Wicked are more consistent with the book than the movie.

  • .................im scared...

  • haha the little munchkins also scare the crapp outta me .

  • this moviee used to scare me just because of the witch . lmao . and the music . Im 13 and very afraidd . lmfao .

  • im still scared of this movie i watched scream saw everything this scares the shit off me , its just freaky

  • at the VERY end a girl screams b4 the explosion if u listen closely you can hear it they hade a show on TV about the mistakes and hiden thing in the W of Oz

  • cool. I heard it :)

  • i heard it too! thats so funny!

  • She can see into the future

  • i heard it too! i just thought it was part of the scene. but i am proved wrong. :)

  • I am going to play this at my evil cat's funeral

  • The house scored a double. Palin and Liddy Dole!!

  • Liddy Dole lost her senate seat! made me think of this song lol

  • I just answered the phone and on the other end was my old friend singing this song ! GO Obama !!!!!

  • awesome. my feeling exactly. it's a new day.

  • Most epic movie evar.

  • Hmm... When I was little, I used to adore this movie. But last year, on the last day of school, we started to watch it and Oz really creeped me out. You know how it's so birhgt, unrealistically bright? The Munchkins were also a little creepy at points.

Then again, I might be biased. I love Wicked so Dorothy seems a bit annoying to me, after reading the book... The Wicked Witch(es) deserve some love! Yet, I never did like the Nessarose... sooo.... ding dong the witch is dead!!

  • i like soooooooo fucking love dis movie!!!

  • 2:46 ...Municipal home rule originated in the United States during the Progressive Era of the early twentieth century. • I found a link to watch this movie online:

    blogger-films.blogspot.*com/2008/10/wizard-of-oz.html

  • well, on wikipedia, on the page dealing with munchkins, it has an urban legend colmn, where it says that two times in the the film there were alleged suicides of munchkins, one at tinmans house and one in this scene.

  • Apparently, theres another suicide of the munchkins in this scene from 1:48-1:58. Look at the top left, but don't go too far left. I don't know if it's a suicide or a danceing munchkin.....nah, its a danceing munchkin.

  • wow i was off lol

  • as coroner i coroned her i thoroughly examined her and take what we sincerley said for the wicke dwitch is dead

  • the guy who made this movie was on acid lol

  • you mean the guy that made the book.

  • >>

"All this time, she's been stripping the Munchkins of their rights! ... And we didn't have that many to begin with!" XD

    That's from Wicked.

But this is the original, and it's awesome!

  • so at 6:15 did someone rip a fart?

  • wow...sad

  • no the other witch was coming i know because i did a school play on this movie. i was a munchkin ! want to see the video? i will send it to u!

  • I'm the TinMan in this play!

  • Today I celebrate the death of a horrible government criminal by playing this song...

  • THE MUNCHKINGS ARE IDIOTS

  • its munchkins love, not munchKINGS LMAOOO

  • I'm a munchkin in my theatres christmas perfomance !

  • It depends on if you beleive me or not; but the girl who played, "Dorothy", Judy garland, is related to me on my mothers side, from the Green Family. She was born in Minnesota, and my family has always lived in Minnesota, so choose to believe me if you want, but I'd just thought I'd share this :)

  • wow... it's weird how hostile people are getting about this movie... Isn't it, whether it's a good movie or not, a little bit of a trivial topic to get so worked up about?

  • anyone ever wonder where the red brick road leads?!?!?!

  • reportedly to the Wicked Witch of the East's castle, but this has never been proven...

  • I wondered about that for ages lol

  • You friend are a complete fail.

  • Have you even seen the movie??

  • indeed i have.

  • Were all the munchkins little people or were there some kids too?

  • In all the years I've seen this movie, I've asked the same thing.. I know there were many little people, but I don't see there being that many... it would be nice to have someone comment on this..

  • All the Munchkins from this segment are from were hired from German mostly. Who knew Germany had this many little people?

  • hey my group is doing wizard of oz for a play and im a lollypop guild and more

  • lol my groups doing it too! Im a winky :P

  • welcome to the every-living-world of OZ.. LOL.. I'm 53, when I was a senior in high school I played one of the lollypop guild too.. great fun!!

  • no, i'm not american, and it's not cuz' she's british. I love Annalene Beechey, and I like Kerry Ellis. I'm German and I live in Canada. Ok I'm going to say it.

Dinna Pilkington makes me nauseous because she squeals and makes my ears kill. I just really don't like Dianne. I think Kristin shows you what Glinda really was, and she's so sincere, becaus she says she herslef always wanted to know what was behind the "plastic" Glinda.

  • no i don't like Dianne Pilkington.I prefer Kristin. Well, Elphaba melts. Dianne Pilkington is just to, well, I'm not going to say it.

  • wow....

  • me and my friends are going to be the lulliby leage for halloween! its gonna b really fun

  • that's right. I love Wicked!!!! The wicked witch of the west is Elphaba. She was named after L Frank Baum, the original author of Wizard of Oz. It's so unfair that Nessa and Elphie had to die. If they ever remake this movie, Kristin Cheoweth needs to play Glinda.

  • that was epic

  • That was........

    RADICAL!

i wish i was in that movie!

    ha ha haha!

  • that would be kool lol xP

  • You know wat they should do? make a wizard of oz throught toto's veiw... that would be kool.

  • I love this movie and my kids love it now. I know their kids will love it, too. It's so timeless.

  • them 3 lolly pop kids in this clip on the right it looks like a kid named tyler

  • this is a wonderful movieeee!! :)

  • so the witch's name was "Ding Dong". As in "Ding Dong the Witch" is dead. I bet nobody knew that.

  • I would have run for my life.

    These munchins are scary=/

  • Ugh

i can only think of them as Elphaba and Galinda.

    :(

  • The coronor is classic. I love it when he sings. lol bless him cause hes so small

  • Best movie of all time is this. I love this song it draws tears to my eyes. The munchkins reminds me of my baby brother and his friends

  • hsm musical is probably a bag of wank I hate new disney films with all these pretty girls and boys falling in love and all that bollocks

  • finally someone who agrees with me :) thank u lol

  • agree about what?

  • haha sorry...about high school mnusical being a "bag of wank"...disney needs to stop making stupid shit with 3950923 sequels

  • agree with what big man?

  • man...those 'lollipop kids' starting at 5:10...that kicking dance...scares me...they look like kids but they dont...nightmares.

  • i love the flowers on their shoes....so cute

  • i love the coroner. this movie is legendary. i think it set the stage for other musical hits. without this, movies and tv. even life would be differant

  • Absolutely right drotanus...also Ruth Duccini...and one of the child munchkins...there were 24 children used.

  • Jaerry Maren was a munchkin and he is most definitely alive and breathing. So were Meinhardt Raabe, Margeret Pellegrini,

Mickey Carroll, Karl S. Slover and Clarence W. Swenson and they are all still living. I cant find anything published or posted that indicates that these people have died in the last few months.

  • Is this the scene where Billie Burke hangs a munchkin and then shoots Toto?

  • I personally know three of the original munchkins; there marvelous little friends; all in their 80's now...

  • Fave ever film, yeahhh I love it.

  • They don't make musicals like this anymore!

    Superb.

    xx

  • if u look very closesly in this scene u can see a shadow of one of the munhkins being hanged, but u can't spot it on this clip, becuase it 2 blurry, but if u have the real video watch it very carefuly in this scene, u can see it!

  • pinkdude that isn't true

it has actually been confirmed to be a large bird that got loose there

  • The Coroner is 93 today (9/02)

  • she isn't wicked and Glinda knows it. lol (Referance to the musical Wicked)

  • thats correct!!!!

  • If you love The Wizard of Oz then you should see the movie Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. It's simply delightful.

  • its sad cause when you think about it 99% of the people in this movie are dead :(

  • There also appears to be a red brick road too. Where does that go?

  • In the carriage ride, it shows that it leads to munchkin city hall

  • Some of the munchkins were regular children.

  • if you are asking about the oz ones then this one came first.

  • And Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory was from 1971.

i can't believe a movie as old a Oz stil is that fun to watch :P

  • still one of my favorite movies of all time.

  • my fave movie xx

  • This movie is amazing!

  • this is maybe a dumb question, but "wich movie came first?"

  • if you are asking about the oz ones then this one came first.

  • I meant "wich movie came first? Oz or Charlie?"

  • this movie is my favorite! i love judy garland and her wonderful voice. no movie can compare to this one...

  • i love this film! it´s perfect!!!

    ¡amo esta pelicula! ¡¡¡es perfecta!!!
