yea, there is an incredible long version of Surrender on the album thanks for telling me about the oprah show. too bad mary turned down the supremes reunion,even with the other girls it was great seeing diana do those songs, I think she even did A Breath taking guy and Forever came today. She also did REach out I'll be there live in her solo at the show..yea, that is true Rhondas father is Berry Gordy.
I saw Diana on "Oprah" yesterday. It was a pleasure to see how well all her children have turned out. I had forgotten Diana's first husband was a wonderful agent called Robert Silberstein. I believe Rhonda's father is Berry Gordy. Diane chose not to discuss her personel choices including her unwillingness to ever perforn with Mary and Cindy again..Too Bad! In regards to this song I always liked this version best along with her version of "Surrender"..
am so glad you enjoyed this version. always thought it was the best. amazing i found it on cd/mp3. Somewhere there is a download of the 1978 Ross album with tons of versions of this, What you gave me, Together, Sorry doesnt always make it right and esp Loving living and giving , including an unreleased version. Yea, this is the best version. I dont know how critics didint like it. no accounting for tastes, your country has The Divinyls. I think 1 of the best, in the UsA ,nothing.only one hit.
This reallly is a great version. Loved it on the Ross 78 release. The album cover is also terrific. I think the remake of ANMHE was perfect. talking, backing vocals, build up and gospel flavored ending. It was a brilliant cover and did the right thing by being very different to the original. This song got weak reviews here in australia. at the time some critics said this version adds nothing to the original...diana fans of course strongly disagreed. Thank you for posting this clear version.
@sweetsoulfulmelody93 I prefer that version as well . . more vocal . . .
