8 Which of Mozart's overtures is the very best?

this is my favorite, and i've always hated pieces of music that i thought had too much woodwind sections. this is pure genius though.

2. Le mariage de Figaro ( d'après une pièce de Beaumarchais du même nom et dont justement l'auteur a été à l'origine du scandale de l'affaire dite du "Collier de la reine".

3. Don Giovanni...le plus sombre de ses opéras écrits juste après la mort de son père Léopold Mozart ( compositeur probable de la symphonie des jouets)

Very well placed as the final overture. Very well orchestrated. The Magic Flute is still the best though.

Cosi Fan Tutte is one of my favorites. I played it at the University of Illinois last year. Love the music. hysterical opera as well. mozart was truly a genius.

no doubt one of the top 5 orchestras,the academy of saint martin in the fields directed by its legendary sir neville marriner,specially for classical music(I prefer others for barroco and romanticism),the accelerando in some parts reminds me of another extraordinary: Rossini,long live mozart
