This is ridiculous! They have to beat and poke the animals to get them to do the trick thats why they stand on the opposite side from the crowd. Please visit the channel called "elephantsanctuarytn" for the elephant sanctuary in Tennessee

@sohcsarewicked No, they really don't. They don't "beat" the elephants as you so accordingly accused. My cousin did these shows for six years, and I've seen them literally hundreds of times. I've been behind the scenes with these very elephants and they are in no way "beaten", or abused in any way shape or form. The "pokers' that the trainers use are dull, rounded lightweight wooden sticks to simply guide the elephants into tricks. They are treated with the utmost love and respect.
