Cool man, thanks! As for sweep picking, I would just say to learn it slow and build your way up. Personally I think sweep picking is severely overrated though. I advocate cheating a lot too. A lot of the time, I don't even sweep the notes, I just hammer on with my left hand.

If u want to get rid of the "string sound", just record the way u did but w/ the amp behind u. You know, with the camera facing the amp. Right now the camera is picking up the sound of your strings. That should help.
