I know this is late, but I notice that you don't use Winnowing much, I'm wondering if that could be replaced with something that could make it easier to take out aataxes so you could do a whole lot of the Underworld.

UW is easy still...even with the pop up, just keep on running, and when you get to skele of dhuum re-activate your speed boost and run past the first group of smites, you can get em later by pulling

I'm having a bit of trouble, and wondering if you could help.

I kill all the graspings, but then when I run to wastes another group pops up. Is there any way to counter this?

Its a new update they added to nerf speed clears with permas...I use to solo spites just for ectos...and now I cant do it because of the new pop ups...I am sure there is a way around it...but you probably cant do it solo.

@AznPrydeMikes Thank you for the tip. I have recently worked on a SS and it is so much easier...I also tried a 600/smite, but the SS seems to be more reliable. Smites can be a little tricky but you just have to make sure you move around enough and keep up your spirit leech! :)

Yeah, the SS is much much easier. Sometimes i just skip the smites cause they keep killing the spirits before i can reload them, than just go to the mindblades lol. But yeah, overall, the SS is pretty good :]

I feel like such a noob but, when you unlock Spike Trap from priest where do you buy it?

It's an elite.

If you've unlocked it, you can try using an elite Ranger Tome.

Else you'll have to use a signet of capture and kill the relevant boss to capture it.

Well, im guessing u unlocked it for PvP.

To get Elite skills in PvE, you need to kill bosses and then you use Signet of capture i thought..

Not sure about name though.

You can buy it at any Skill trainer. Its the last skill in the list.

why not kill the aatxe aswell with a diff build when i do it i usly get atleast 2 ectos from doing the run and 4 if i get lucky

Hard Mode probably would be possible if Grasping Darknesses can keep up when Dash is used and not Aatxes'.

Though trapping HM Coldfires' doesn't sound fun. ._.

With that said the runs would take much longer....better off going in with heroes with a nice 4-man set-up killing and opening Locked Chests if you want UW golds. If you want to solo Ecto - keep doing NM. ^_^

Why not just kill the aatxes? With a better build you kill aatxes, grasping darknesses and smithers in 1 run

Because that would take longer and would require a different and less "safer" build than the one shown.

Most people tend to just farm smites when they go in solo as it's much quicker and easier. Aataxe do have a higher Ecto drop rate but there's not many of them and they're much more tricky to take down solo. So it's better to just do more quicker smite runs than slower runs that kill Aatxe's too.

Could this build work for farming lesser mobs but without spike trap? I haven't made it to Ring of Fire yet to cap it.

Outside of UW? perhaps. But you'll be reducing your overall damage quite a bit. Especially now that Spike Traps stronger.

I can't really say if it would work or not unless you can be more specific on what mobs you are thinking of trying it on.

There is/has been builds that use traps along with bow attacks. You might be able to muster up something seeing as you'll have a elite slot to spare.

I actually made a build that I'm still working on that utilizes flame, dust and barbed traps and a few other skills that seems to work on mobs like griffins and trolls in southern shiverpeaks when done correctly. It still needs some fine tuning, but it's definitely feasible.

i have a similar build, except i use echo instead of spike trap...but i've considered switching it out for spike trap.. what do you think? an extra dust trap vs a spike trap(knock down)

There is nothing wrong with this farm; no skills have changed and Anet have not changed anything.

eengulden is probably talking about Coldfires, not Aatxes, which the video already shows several examples on how to trap them if needed.

If this were ever to be "Nerfed" I would leave a comment saying so for you guys.

I would advise taking Troll Unguent over Winnowing though.

This solo is pure for Smites and the Grasps

so dont try this for Aatxe
