I was four years old watching the Oscars with my parents when Roberto Benini won, and I remember it SO vividly and that memory stuck with me for a long time. Probably because a grown man jumping on a chair was just very memorable for a four year old girl.
@singer320981320 It's a very Mediterranean thing to do when you see a happy child (yeah it was a kid). I live in Greece and the Greeks do the same. But it is endearing.
Man he's so funny even though he can't make out all the words he wanted to say instead he uses actions to represent it. I just can't imagine how funny he'll be if he speaks Italian.
One of the reason I want to learn how to speak Italian.
@killer1177 Having the opportunity to see and hear Roberto Benigni is a life experience. His spirits contaminates anyone plays. The Lord gave him a talent and a genius that hardly meets in ordinary mortals. A man of extraordinary general culture is often called in university classroom where teachers listen to him open-mouthed. I understand that being italian makes you lose 80% of the talent of this wonderful character. Excuse my horrible English.
It would be nice if we American adults could actually enjoy the Graham Norton Show without being treated like children by the condescending folks at BBCAmerica. Apparently, according to this latest show with Benigni and Kensit, the word "tit" is now in the same category as the word "fuck"? Some censor at BBCAmerica seems to be of the opinion that the word "tit" is too obscene for American ears to hear? Which words will be bleeped next? "Biscuit", perhaps? "Duck", maybe? How about "banana"?
That is quite weird. Surely 'tit' should be acceptable, but to be honest i think here on english tv they're less strict with the amount of words they censor. I didn't know Graham Norton show was popular in America.. or is it just a few of you that watch it?
actually, i don't think that would work. Much would be lost in translation and I I speak from experience. Roberto's comedy is perfect just the way it is...which by the way, uses a lot of body language too.
I must find that rap...
