  • her hair before the treatment is also amazing... adorable color too

  • This contains formaldehyde which is known to cause cancer.

  • I just tried the product for my second treatment. First one lasted with good results for about 6 weeks. Serious drawback this time was after the 4 washes with the clarifying shampoo, my hair was in matted knots. Some large and some small. I wanted to cry, there wa NO way of getting the big one out so I cut it and my hair has a large short section on one side. This has never happened before in my 42 years. I looked for number on the box to call ion for help. Please beware!!!

  • @missyrballard This is an indication that your hair is needing additional moisture and conditioning prior to this service. Generally a clarifying shampoo will make the hair very clean and would require the use of a wide tooth comb to easily comb but if it's difficult and you are breaking your hair in trying to get the knots out I would recommend the use of the Ion Extreme Moisture Crème prior to the keratin smoothing treatment.

  • I used the treatment 2 weeks ago and love the results. My hair was coarse frizzy and fluffs up when air drying. I suffered no further end breakage or frying of my hair. Only negative was I have blonde highlights that turned a brassy yellow when using the ion straightening iron

  • What does hair look like when you wash it after the three days?

  • How long after you color your hair can you do the keratin treatment ?

  • What's so special about the ION flat iron with the kit? Is there keratin in it? Are the plates ceramic?

  • @poisondime The Ion Keratin Smoothing Iron features a LCD Temperature read out that provides accurate real time heat information. A digital microprocessor and ceramic heater generate heat up to 450°F. The 6-8 second recovery time delivers a constant operating temperature with minimal drop off from roots to ends. Long plates (100 mm) allows straightening a larger section of hair. Floating plates that allow for easy glide and snag free styling.

  • @fr0stypop We do recommend a lower setting, but it also depends on how many passes you run the flat iron through. Try the minimum of 3 passes. You may see some color fade out after you start to shampoo, after the 72 hours.

  • is this permanent?

  • @sihaya120106 the treatment should last 6 to 8 weeks.

  • and that is what exactly happened to me! i love the resultsi but my platinum blonde hair turned gold/yellow. i know next time to use a lower setting . what setting? i used 400 .. guess that was too much.

what do i do now? about the color?

  • I have really damaged hair that's naturally thick and wavy, will this cause any additional breakage that you're aware of?

  • @xxxKIMMAxxx Not when used correctly. It is IMPERATIVE that you follow the directions with the appropriate flat iron temperature. For over processed and delicate hair, the temperature should be lowered to avoid burning or damaging the hair. For instance, if the color of the hair becomes darker or yellow, it is because the temperature of the iron is too high and should be lowered.
