@Cnd1867 If I'm not mistaken, didn't our banks hold up because the Liberals and NDP refused to allow Conservatives to push for bank deregulation, therefore not allowing our banks to lend at 30 to 1(or higher)as fractional reserve ratio. As well not allowing them to gamble so much in the form of credit default swaps on derivatives helped A TON. Thank god we had some Liberals in power in the past or else we'd be in the same boat as the US.
