There is no such thing as "Islamic Science" just as there is no such thing as "Christian Science" or "Buddhist Science", so it is a gross misnomer to refer to anything scientific as "Islamic Science". Rather, it should be referred to as Indian Science, Persian Science, Arab Science, Roman Science, Greek Science, Turkish Science, or whatever ethnic group created the science during the era in question. Rewriting religion as a source of science is both misleading and wrong.

Much of what is referred to as "Islamic Science" pre-dated the arrival of Islamic armies and was generated by scientists who were either not ethnic Arabs, were not Muslims, or who had to convert to Islam in order to attain access to education, equipment and capital to further their research. Almost all scientist would agree to this proposition as well, as long as you don't expect something supernatural to be responsible for creation.

After all, spontaneous creation of particles, patterns, order and self-organization has been observed practically everywhere. It seems to be one of the key properties of our Cosmos.

The scientists who strictly beleive in Evolution against Creation, are just silly tbh. I beleive in Evolution, ad Islam(creation). If Allah didnt create our world, Evolution would have notihng to act upon. Whenever you have a realistic experience (smell/feel/see anything) just remember it could not be there if noone created it. Odyssey was already becoming canonical during the Jewish captivity in Babylon, while it existed as a Greek legend for some centuries even before it.

So if there was some Greek-Jewish exchange of the idea, it had been probably started by the Greeks.

On the other hand, Odyssey had influences from a much earlier ME epic, the Sumerian Gilgamesh, and the Circe story is considered similar to the Gilgamesh Siduri story!

So perhaps the Sumerian culture was the original source of these concepts.

Most likely there are several not isolated sources exchaning some ideas in variant versions, and producing stories that share some common thoughts and aspects. Some of these aspects are going as far as the Sumerian culture, which is the oldest known, therefore none knows from what earlier cultures they had some borrowed too.
