  • This was the first game I ever completed. <3

  • Other than missing the two sweet buns that turn Wang's hair magenta (found in Rounds 3 & 5) and taking damage from the Giant and Rin-Rin & Min-Min in Round 6 and Mandara in Round 7, a nearly flawless run through. :D

  • @Resvrgam I never found those power ups in round 3 and 5 and now i'm looking already half an hour to find it on a video and i still can't find them.Where are those freaking things?

  • god, i loved that game

  • also, i remember seeing that dragon in the background at 6:12 for the first time and being like, ah yeah, this is some advanced shit!. the NES could never replicate those colours.

  • skilled playtrough of a very good (and very underrated) master system title. nice vid.

  • Looks exactly like the game Black Belt, even similar sounds

  • @Commissarius yes, it looks like black belt in that it's a beat-em-up side-scroller, but the graphics, music and control in this game are far superior to black belt. a good demonstration of what the master system could offer.

  • 1 player -4

  • Aaah, the days when you could spend 3 months pocket money on a game that lasted less than 10 minutes...

  • This game needs a Wii Virtual Console release!

  • copia SATANICA DE SAPO CHULE MESTRE KUNG FU ! xD

  • Kung Fu Kid can beat anybody with both hands tied up!! (he only kicks anyway...)

  • Fuck Karate Kid xD Kung Fu Kid rulz!!!

  • Que saudade!!!! Esse eu joguei muito no MSII, vinha num cartucho junto com um tal de Kasamuru e Shinobi.

    Wonderful Game, thanks for video!!

  • desses jogos ai nao sinto a menor falta kkkkkk mo dificil hahahah

  • So this game obviously plays like Kung Fu for the NES, except better. Were they related by developer, or was one a knock-off of the other?

  • SEGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGA.Lol i ownd this game played it on 4 inch radio/tv hahaha

  • I have no idea what this is I was born in 2000 and my first game thingy was that old gameboy that was long and i forgot I think i had a nintendo 64

  • I just beat this today

  • The SMS was such a superior console to the NES, it's almost laughable. It's such a shame that its lifespan was so short due to poor 3rd party support...

  • @Forzaabruzzo you right have u seen masters of combat but they chose the wrong people make some their games

  • I have this :] Cool!!!!!

  • kung fu kiddd... man.. good memories... Martial art games was all i was playing when i was a kid: Kung fu kid, My hero, Kung Fu (NES), The ninja, Shinobi and many others. This genre is dead now.

  • Dude, you missed the explosive talismans! LOL

  • music is to fast chainge from 60herz to 50hertz and turn the fm sound chip off

thats if you want to play it as intended back in 1987

  • this game was the reason why I ate sweet buns before my rugby games as a kid lol

  • This game was great!!!

  • i always had one fuck of a time with that last boss on stage 6. nicely played, sir.

  • What a fun game. I always liked the music on level 4.

  • This is one of the first games I ever owned as a kid, and maybe the first one I finished.

  • One of my dear favourites of all time.

  • my fav master system game

  • it reminds me of Black Belt a little bit.

  • I never realized the old games had such low replay value! LOL.

  • Totally fun game back in the day!!! Thanks for the memories!

  • First game I ever got for my brilliant Master System. Took me ages to work out how to bounce off walls! I was also shocked at how rubbish you were at it - you took about 7 hits in total!! Shocking! :O

Heh - only kidding, it was a good run and thanks for uploading and giving me 10 mins of nostalgia :)

  • I still got this game and a sega master system working. I think I'll pull this out and play this game when I'm off the net.

  • Yes man, is good to remember! I'm 34 now.

  • For a second there I was a kid again (I'm 30) I was holding a smile for 10:58 mins

    Thanks for the good memories!!

  • @lordtyamat Yeh I'm about your age and this game takes me back too. I think it's a bit underrated.

  • I play this game, when I was young. Still a classic, but very hard^^

  • I miss this game, emulator time :)

  • do you know where i can download an emulator?

  • holy shit stage 3 he raped

  • this game was second only to black belt for me. nice run. i could never get past the blue guy in stage 6 back in the day.

  • always Loved this Game!!! I missed it!!

  • Nice,i had this game. After i fuggured out how to kill the zombieboss(which i had this video back then) it was relative easy to finnish the game.I was even disapointed how easy the final boss was.

The only thing i never found where the pickups described in the manual. The manual said you could find power ups in level 3 and 5 by kicking in the walls.I kicked every wall and never found one.

  • this was my fav game. I remember you had to jump off a ledge and at the same time while falling, kick the wall.

you can also get chinese stars that were more advanced. but i didn't know exactly how to get them.

  • nice job man , i loved thos game so much

    tks tks tks !!!

  • get the talisman!!!

  • love this game and still have it along w/ the sms, perfect working condition

  • greatest game of all time

  • FUCKED LO PAN UP LOL!!! I remeber playing this game when I was younger. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

  • LOL

  • lol that score counter is annoying, almost takes more time than the gameplay

  • Best game ever

  • Man, that last boss kinda reminds me of Lo Pan! I love this game, thanx for bringing it back!

  • God, it's been so long since I played this... Good ol' Master System.

Keep your smelly 3rd dimension, this is where I'm home.

  • One of the 1st games I have beaten. Anyone remember what the story was? :p

  • my first mastersystem game

  • Wow, this was the first game I played for the Sega Master System back in 1988. 20 years sure flew by so fast. Thanks for the nostalgia trip.

  • Good shit! I use to love this game back in the day. Does anybody remember the 2 secret items. The vase and the bun? I could only find the vase on that board with the big dragon caged at the end and all it would do was change my hair to purple but I could never find the bun.

  • That was a game I enjoyed playing on SMS.

  • great game ! i remenber it 15 years ago :)

  • has it been that long? are we old now?

  • Yeah. There was a special move. It was like a sliding shadow kick. I think you could get it near the end of the game. I don't remember how to do it though. I think you jump then go down and kick. I loved this game. This on and Rambo for the Sega.

  • talbot1939- wow thanks for the vid. I use to love this game. I had one question though. Do you know how to do the hurricane kick in this game? I remember I was messing around and I accidentally did a special move but never remembered how to do it again.

  • I remember it was the first game Ive played when I got this console back in 1989. Really was in it, was good fun and I was not more than 6 years old :P

  • damn I love kung fu kid, thanx for this

  • The second from last boss with the beard is called "the puzzle wizard."

    I always laugh at that

  • you missed the bread of wisdom on the 4 stage just before the last boss... it makes your hear turn dark red.. but thats abut it ... i dont kno wwhat else it does ... its also in the instruction manual

  • Why do all Round 6 bosses grab their crotches in the fetal position upon defeat?

  • hahahahaha! seriously

guess no matter how good you are at martial arts, a good hit to the groin will drop ya no matter what

  • The easiest way to complete level 1: you just walk, kill the jumpers, jump over the big guys who walk... then when there are three of them following you, you just keep walking. They won't manage to hurt you.

  • God, this brings me back. This is what YouTube is good for!

  • level 6 was cool! I loved play this game many times!

  • I remember this game. My baby brother was born around the time it came out, not to mention my cousin that owned a copy of it was a fucking pro at it.

  • You know, I was the only kid on my block to get a SMS and not a NES for Christmas in 1986. Because of games like this, Black Belt, Kenseiden, Space Harrier, Phantasy Star and who knows how many others, though, I'm grateful to this day for that gift! My friends thought I was nuts but I loved it and my SMS and every game I've ever owned are still in my basement and work just fine. Thanks for the vid!!!

  • same here, and have a buttload of games still around and working like new

too bad the instruction booklets are missing and the cases are now plain

i even dug the hang on/astro warrior pack ins

and holy shit, kenseiden was cool

  • I never got past the first level, that's how young I was when I played this. Finally, after all these years I get to see what this game is about.

  • I used to beat this game all the time. It was awesome though cause you can bounce off walls.

  • Ya I remember this but never knew what the hell those weird things were that bounced and had their arm stretched?!?!

  • some chinese ghost legend, the character is actually in super puzzle fighter turbo, hsien ko

  • part of my life is complete now, I have seen the ending to Kung Fu Kid

    Thank You

  • i was able to beat this game in the past ! but man, you really CAN play!! way better than me

  • WHAT!?! You could jump off walls?! Dang...

  • My GOD!! what amazing memories!

    Thanks for adding that!!

  • Now this was when games were cool and artistic and you had to use you imagination becasue the graphics were limited, but thats what made it so great!!! god i never thought id see the day where video games went to crap with this Army training first person crap thats out now

  • the first SMS game i ever owned...such an easy game when you figure out the patterns...i think i've clocked myself at about 12 minutes beating it...kudos to you for beating it in under ten!

  • Anybod remember pulling the cartridge out at the title screen then putting it back in and it would switch over to the japanese version???? how about making up your own names for the characters /enemies in the game....like the witch and the bouncy guy and the lobster

  • It was Chinese. I achieve the same result when I accidently tripped over the Master System while my brother was playing it. We were a little shocked by that!

  • ho-lee SHIT! you blazed through kung fu kid XD i'm impressed, gonna go watch your other vids. XD

  • I loved this game too. The movement is so smooth in this game. you can get a potion which will change your characters hair in to purple at 5:22 (if you didn't know that)

    nice video

  • this game was easy because it was so playable. I played this game to death. I loved SEGA's oriental style games.

  • Agreed, sadly I think I've covered all of the master system's oriental style games (other than spell caster). Too bad the number of games for this system were so limited.

  • what about kenseiden, cloud master or black belt? to name a few.

  • loved this game!

  • hehe, that game was easy.. pretty fun though.

  • I loved this game! this is what got me into kung-fu horror. thanks for putting this up! 5/5

  • hdr, motion blur, realtime shadow, this game kick ass!

  • classic
