  • Have a good one james

  • Hi first of all you make great YouTube videos the quality on my cheap laptop is fantastic

what camera do you use and model number.

  • Cheers

I currently use a JVC everio 30GB HDD camcorder that does HD

Power director is the editing suite and the encoding is 720 HD wmv

  • ok t what i do is bait up with about 3 hand fulls of pellet and boliles at the start

  • TBH all your blogs are amazing steve how many kilos of baits do you bait up with mate????

  • Cheers

I start off with singles and maybee a bag or half - two handfuls of bait and build it up little and often depending on activity and results.

Somtimes i wack out half a kilo but it really does depend on experience.

Caution is the key though as you cannot take it out once its in.

  • good blog steve

  • thx dude

  • you whould come visit us in australia, got some carp here with your name on them!!

    great videos as per usual.

  • do you know any good carp waters around suffolk, essex, norfolk

  • no mate never fish there

  • Your videos are great. Do you fish any of the venues in the cambridge fpas (blue book) because i fish reach lake and sportsmans pit

  • yes mate i have had a ticket almost every year for the last 30 years and have fished all there waters.

one year i set myself the task of fishing them all, it took two years.

  • Is it just me or can I hear Beat It in the back ground?? (:

  • it's just you micheal is dead mate

  • hi mate. glad you decided to put this series up in the end. suprised you have named the venue though! you keep mentioning your 'mate', is that mr taylor?

  • Alright Ian Trev Murrell was the fella i fished with back in the late 80t's early 90t's and the lake is on the premiumcarpfishing website and catch reports have into carptalk mag so it's no secret really eh mate.

Mind you these blogs are months old and as you know i have moved around a bit this year so loads of fishing to come.

And a few more from Pingles pool too.

Next one is a right corker:)

  • i fish at my local fishery in Iver, its got alot of carp around the 5-10lb mark, but there is a few 20's and *supposedly* 35lb one, do you have any tips as to get past the small 5lb'ers and go for the bigger fish? the lake is about 10' deep at the middle and has an island, i guess the water is only about 2 or 3 acres in size.

  • lots of bait will see off the little ones but you will most likely have to wade throught the little uns anyway

  • is pingles a day ticket water or a syndicate .and keep up the good work blogging. and cacth what you catch as most of all you should enjoy your fishing .

  • 8 man Syndicate mate

    Cheers.

  • u lucky devil ;)

  • I like your blogs mate, no "how to" boring videos like you say...

I couldn't help notice you always have "dress shirt" on...

Do you go strait to work after fishing or what ?

  • no the shirts are my preference as i have absolutly no fashion sense i just stick on whats clean and at the top of the draw.

  • same here steve as long as warm and dry lol

  • great vid as ever. How can you post 18 min ?

  • As a YouTube Partner I can post films upto 30 min long however the 2GB file limit cuts it down to 18.

    cool huh.

  • Great blog mate, that looks a cracking little venue and cant wait to see what comes out of there look forward to nxt installment and keep em coming pal good luck on that little gem.

  • Cheers cruncher thats exactly how i felt when i first set eyes on it, cor what a little gem.

  • i would never be upset with a double hope willow has not spoilt your fishing m8

  • Na not spoilt by willow and your right i would be pleased with a double.

Last week i had a session on pingles and my first fish was a 15lb common if the blog gets aired then you will see that i was well pleased.

  • Your like a kid in a sweet shop at the beginning, love the enthusiasm.

  • Yer thx your right, thk goodness i never lost that feeling, from kid to big kid eh.

  • how many more smartcast head units you going to break mate ?

  • plenty i expect you know me, Mr Gentel Touch

  • Steve as usual your blog's are keeping me on the edge of my seat mate! can't wait for part 2.

  • Good stuff i'm doing my job then eh.

  • what a great title mate. i am a fully paid up member of the Cuckoo Club. i know you wanted to join, as promised i will nominate you . Cuckoos are getting rare steve and its very commendable that your love of them will help to highlite there plight!!!

  • You are a certified member of the Cuckoo Club for sure.

Me I am a fully paid up member of the NRA and no I aint' talking about no National Rivers Aurthority either......bucko:>

  • dont you think i look ultra cool in them ocean waves?

I loved em mate wish i could afford em but my boss is a tight arse bastard!

    ha! ha1!ha!

  • I used to fish an 11 acre park lake at Thamesmead SE London. 95% of my fish came from the corner swims. A 30 yard chuck was sufficient, plus you could walk round and accurately bait the area. Magic !

  • Was it Southmere? if so I used to fish it too. Full of 40s now and a few 50s.

  • No..Birchmere. Southmere's a bit of a legend. You gotta know the right people to fish there or it can be quite hazardous, If you get my drift lol

  • Canadian Steve! hes an arse hole. He thinks he owns the lake. they can keep there crap council shit hole lake lol. Yeah Birchmere i know it well, we turfed the new houses that surround the lake years ago. The fish must be huge by now.

  • Ha ha...Yeah I remember him I think. I knew the guys pretty well a few years back but It ain't my type of water or attitude. Don't fish at the moment but If I start again I'll re join the Kingfishers club and fish Paddlesworth at Snodland...Happy days :))

  • Nice. I'm waiting to get on Hawkhurst's speci member's lake. They have a 43lb plus mirror in there with my name tattooed on its ass.

  • Alright Fella

  • Excellant again Steve, Im interested in how you approach a 'new' water, I know youve been here before but gotta learn it all again, feeding times, spots, moods, etc.

Hampered without yer smartcast?? Ha! join the rest of us fishing 'blind' with only markers and leads eh??!! Keep it up!

  • Glad your enjoying it mate yes i was not happy without my smartcast.

I use it very very little infact, so much so that the batteries i put in it two seasons ago are still fine!

However the information it gives you in a few minutes is worth a thoushand hours of marker and lead.

more to come from this little fenland pool for sure.

  • i had a gud time fishing 2day at a little course fishing lake nd caught a six pound mirror nd my first ever leather which was 7 nd a half pound. also i was quite happy cos i caught my first ever double which was an eleven nd a half pound mirror so gud days fishing accept the good english weather. good luck with the next few vids m8 :)

Good to know your still tuning in mate as your one of my oldest youchoob buddies

    be lucky kev

  • Alright steve. Nice to see you on a new venue. From what ive read on the pace dont think your be catching as many as the willow lake but must be nice to have the lake to yourself. Anyway good luck on your new challenge and lets hope we see a few kippers soon hey mate.

  • Cheers mate always nice to have the place to yourself especialy Pingles because it can be very difficult and they know your there and bloody avoid you:)

still i do manage a few....

  • Thx

  • Cool another lake and more blogs thats my evenings veiwing sorted for a while.

Looks a great place as well here,s to the first of many carp to come.

  • I'll drink to that fella

  • nice one as usual m8y,argulas problem due we think to very low water levels, dnt ask me why?cnt think of anything else, the orrible little ****ards, lol, take care m8,nice lake by the way

  • Cheers bud

  • Great blog once again.

I was just wondering how you register drop-backs with such slack lines and back leading?

  • my back leads are very light about 1/2 grm or so, just enough to sing the line but have minimum affect on the take.

Somtimes i just slide some twisted leadcore (which i no longer use for leaders) down the line.

It's just to keep the line out of the way.

  • hi steve looks cracking new water, next 1 wen your ready.

P.S think im gonna go for the scattering boillie approach on willow. cheers for the advice anyway.

    Dan

  • no worries be lucky eh

  • jackson playing in the back?

  • shhhhhh you'll get me suspended:) i forgot to switch the radio off:)

  • top vid lovin the extended blogs aswell PUKKA !!!

  • Yea 18 mins is all i could get with the high quality and the 2GB file limit.

I think i can upload films as long as thirty minutes as a youchoob partner but of course the file sise limits me...... shame eh.

    Cheers

  • Great blog steve! cant wait for the next blog!

    dan

  • Looking forward to the next one already:)

  • Me too as it was a cracking session:)

  • again another great video, keep em coming lol

  • Cheers.

  • another great vid great that u catch one of the leather carp

  • Nice vid again Steve. That tree/bush lined margin to your left looked good especialy with the wind blowing in there. If the fish are mopping up your bait,it should only be a matter of time!? Also,as you said it makes sense to use combi rigs, with the bottom being hard & clean. Can't believe you're the only one on there. The lake I'm fishing has 15-25 anglers on it week days or weekends(Bedfordshire)! Good luck,it will happen soon.

  • I was fishing in the lakes close season bud:)

read the description right for more details.

    Cheers.

  • come on! come on! funny stuff.

  • I always get impatient for that first run.

  • yeah, first run usualy boosts ur confidence and sets you off better
