  • its fucked up how this video only gets 90,000, but lamer justin bieber gets millions, if janes addiction came out now instead of the 80s they'd be getting tons of views, long live god music

  • This concert needs a fuckin' DVD. NOW

  • was so exicted to see this at reading, and they fucking pulled out, so gutted :(

  • Eurghhhhh how does dave do that lick at 2:24, I can't work it out!?!?!?! Thanks

  • @AICALEXAIC it's called multiple hammer-ons and pull-offs. He hammers on from the 12th fret on the high E to the 15th and pulls off to the 12th then hits the 15 fret on the B string. He does this over and over. Start slow and stay relaxed then you'll be able to do it with some practice. It's a signature Dave thing if you will, very trippy

  • @Barefoot67 Cheers brother

  • EPIC!

  • love seein flea there

  • That intro is a thing of beauty.

  • If you look up what 'ON' means in music,

    IT

  • give me daves guitar tone

  • give me daves guitar tone...

  • awesome!

  • PHUkk MEEE . BRILLIANT!!!!!

  • who the fuck are the 5 five people that disliked this video?!?!

  • i think they were going for the size of the ocean...

  • This crowd was fucking loving this nite. Awesome participation from the audience, unlike some venues where the music is kicking and everyone is just standing around

  • THE BASSIST IS AWESOME

  • @tomtebass ya flea's playing here

  • how could anybody dislike this?

  • Would anyone else agree that this blows away any airbrushed studio effort?? Holy Jeebus, cold beer, spark one up.......I'm ALL SET!

  • @jimmyb207 agree

  • Navarro's tone here is amazing. He is totally insane.

  • After all these years Perry's voice still blows me away.

  • TAKE THAT

  • Devastating

  • so fucking good, amazing song.. awesome band and all round musicianship.. fucking huge music!!.. only...why did such a ruling kickass guitarist from the late 80's - 90's turn into such a douche?

  • Holly shit that blew the fucking roof off of my place!

  • 88dark1's comment says it all! Fucking excellent!

  • hey i know theze guys! :D thats Dave Chappelle, Stivo, Mugatu and last but not least Coolio! woot!

  • This is off the fucking hook. Spread the word.

  • soooooooooooooooo sick

  • This is music when it is played from the heart. They would have rocked even if they never made it up and above the local L.A. club scene. But back then (as today) they were simply too amazing for people not to take notice.

  • Mtv killed Rock N Roll. Now I say lets kill Mtv.Stop watchig Jersey Shore and the rest of that regurgitated shit they call "entertainment"

  • one of only a few cassette tapes that I literally broke listening on auto-reverse in my '84 Honda Accord. "Pay attention kiddies" is damned right.........

  • If youtube came out back in 1997, this video would have had 5,000,000 hits instead of 50,000

  • i was there! it was awesome!!!!

    Halloweennight 1997-1998 dont remember...

    Johan Afterglow

  • i was there! it was awesome!!!!

    Johan Afterglow

  • unas de sus mejores giras!

  • I wonder what Anthony Kiedis thought about his soulmate Flea playing with Jane's.

  • this is hands down the best life ocean size i've heard yet... that scream at 3:16 gave me goosebumps on my goosebumps. i need that scream as a ring tone LOL...

i would have gladly given both tits to be at this show. perry looks HOT for 48 (he's 51 now). i saw them in '89, '90, & '91 but those are all just a blur thanks to psychodelics :) LOL

  • @groens sorry for typo-- "LIVE" ocean size, not life LOL

  • @groens @groens I was at the show 2 nights before this in LA. It was their 2nd, following the Roxy debut of the relapse tour. Now I'm a Jane's fanatic. I think they're the greatest thing to ever grace a stage, period. I saw a handful of shows in 90 and 91. Anyways to cut to the chase; this relapse tour and the LA show-- even as a seasoned fan, NOTHING prepared me for what this was! It was the greatest live experience EVER. I could've died that night it was so not of this earth.

  • @groens subsequently I saw their recent tour with NIN and Eric Avery and it was the ONLY ONLY time I have ever seen them and was bored. It was like a vegas revue! It broke my heart. Avery's presence, while integral to their sound and what they are, SUCKED the life out of them on that tour. HE is death! Just a buzzkill, asshole who does not respect or revere the legacy and instead creates the veryt atmosphere he did not want and avoided, and that was one of a washed up band.

  • @LFL84 that really sucks. i hear they're in studio recording another album... wonder if eric is in? i watch various jane's and/or perry videos on youtube and you can definitely see when the energy is there and when it isn't. sometimes it looks like a passion, other times it looks like a job. this particular tour was definitely driven by passion. i want to see that again.

  • @groens That's actually most of my gripe. Eric bailed again. Duff Mckagan is replacing him. They've already performed a Roxy show with Mckagan and it's already more harmonious. Avery is such the sound of Jane's addiction but you'd think approaching your 50's and all you've been for the past 15 years is a session player for Bands like Alanis Morrisette, that you could maybe check your ego long enough so as to produce another album from one of the greatest 4 pieces in history.

  • @LFL84 ya he is the sound of Jane's but in all honesty, I think Flea is way better in this (energy and talent-wise) and meshes better with the overall vibe. i've heard others like martin lenoble and as long as they are a seasoned, talented bassist, they seem to do rather well. seems avery's attitude had more to do with the band's problems than drug issues. he comes off as inflexible and rigid, along with the obvious ego... i mean, on this relapse tour they sounded better than ever.

  • @LFL84 I too saw them on that tour and Im a big Janes Fan. But I have to admit, NIN were amazing and better than Janes. Avery looked as though he wasn't having any fun and alone in his own world. Flea would have been a better choice with his energy and talent.

  • @Graffitti74 I hear ya. Saw them at Irvine meadows. Took my girlfriend for her to finally have a taste of what I was talking about all these years and frankly I was embarrassed. I had a pretty significant inside hook up too and I did not even bother going backstage afterwards. NIN did kick ass!

  • @groens ok i'm replying to my first post-- man i must have been asleep... life= live, psychodelics = psychedelics, perry is 38 in this vid, not 48... yes, he's 51 this year... and yes, he's still hot LOL although i wish he would have kept his gorgeous nose instead of replacing it with a new one :( his natural-born nose was so sexy.

  • 88Dark-;) LOVE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY... I first saw Janes when they were opening for... ready for this??? DIE WARZAU. No kidding. Best LP I'd ever heard... had to sneak outta the house and get to the cat club. Perhaps the best LP i've heard, to date actually.) somethings were inspired by genius.... Janes Addiction.... that IS genius.

  • Now this is how it's done.

  • cliff martinez and flea?

  • NYC yea! ya gotta love their PUNKS! I feel ya man

  • Perry says don't let know one push you around! Wish I was ocean size!!

  • This is the ultimate live rock! You can't do it better than this!

  • The guitar at 2:23 is really orgasmic! Love it :)

  • Perry should have lit the ends of his hair on fire.....like Blackbeard.

  • awesome!!!!!

  • the most talented musicians always seem to be brown junkies

  • God, it's awesome to watch at them !

  • what @plisskin91 said. " 3:16 is EPIC!! "

  • In the "Sky"!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Burningchromosome I don't know man tom's good but Dave has a really distinct style that amazes me and dave made me pick up the guitar him and jimi hendrix

  • @drporkchop234 , sorry, had anger issues that night. i saw Dave last two nights of Jane's "last" tour in Hawaii. Dave blew me away. Talked briefly with Eric, tall, was with his girlfriend, leaving like he wanted to get the hell out of there...

  • @Burningchromosome why so hostile man its all a matter of opinion, and anyways, their both incredible guitarists, do u think they care whose better?

  • @CrazyDan1984 , ever been so rebellious while having a good beer buzz? i thought i removed what i put on here, i was an ass that night. peace!!!

  • 3:16 is EPIC!!

  • Cuanta pasta debe correr en la banda pero no importa si pueden tocar de tal forma.

  • it's so fuckin powerful and cool. On a level rarely seen

  • yeah lol @mrbonny wtf are u talking about ratm and these guys are like not even the same music genre.. lol

  • god damn dave navarro can play guitar. i just got into this album a week ago and he's definitely the standout.

  • If anyone ever compared Janes to RATM. Im sorry fellas, but Tom Morello is a fucking god. As good as Navarro is, RATM is on another level. They both have the ability to completely capture an audience and kinghit them with awesomeness and hard out rock but.

  • You're comparing Tom Morello to Dave Navarro here, not RATM to Jane's Addiction. A band is a lot more than its lead guitarist.

  • there 2 different genres dude .

  • Anyone who doesn't see that Dave is a god, needs to listen to Three Days more closely.

  • @MrBonnyy

just get it over with.....put a sign in front of your house that says, "complete fucking moron lives here"....and, please refrain from breeding.

  • Janes Addiction with Guns N Roses live March 2010 in Lima-Peru!!!!!!!!!!

  • they are all amazing at what they do!!

  • I remember listening to the cd version of this and thinking 'like fuck could they pull this off live'....how wrong was I.....

  • i know, its like the effen live version is 20x better

  • @fuckscum ohh yeh,,they are or were a live band for sure!!

  • @fuckscum

So true. Unbelievable version. Plus, Flea. Awesome.

  • He so knows he has you by the balls at 2:15. I love the expression on that face!

  • @emmerfarro

between 2:40 - 2:43 the facial expression is like damn, he can't even believe his band sounds this fucking good lol

  • that fucking jew can sing....XD....just kidding just kidding before you guys cumshot me for being racist....hahaha

  • lmao

  • This song gives me goosebumps every time.

"....see the ocean break on the shore....come together....no harm done".

  • This is some amazeing sound for live & Youtube, good job all around too the recording operators and encoding person who set this up for youtube and thank you.

  • man this song is even better with flea in as bass

  • theyre bass player is as good as flea

  • Haha if you're serious then thats even funnier.

And if you are, that is flea. If not, sorry for wasting your time. Damn that made me sound like a dick

  • hahaha, hahaha. ha. haha. ha

  • No one has energy like JA. Maybe RATM :)

  • @AICALEXAIC back in the day 311 & chilli peppers had as much, if not more energy than janes at times. imo atleast.

  • Maybe, but rage against the machine are on another level :)

  • This is "THE SONG" Awesome!

  • no i think "ain't no right" is "THE SONG" from this particular concert

  • que banda de puta madre ¡¡¡¡

  • amen....!

  • I remember this show,i saw it on MTV in the good times, because now MTV is a shit!!!!

  • this is probly right around when dave navarro got kicked out of the red hot chili peppers. cool that flea went on tour with JA then

  • uhhhh why is flea playing???

  • Wow! That rocked! I have to admit, I was turned off to JA after I saw them at Lolapalooza 91, just before their breakup. That show completely sucked ass, compared to when I saw them in 89 and 90. And then other clips I've seen of them with new line ups also sucked, so I pretty much dismissed JA and I felt at least I had my memories of early Jane's, but this clip really shocked me. It kicks ass. Now I wish I would've caught JA with Flea in the lineup.

  • Hell... yeah.

  • This song kicks your ass so hard.

  • flea
