@ganymedeIV4 actually dude, the distance from your read/write head in hard drive is less than the width of a hair so smoke is bad for that. smoke lands and is sticky and will collect more gunk making all of your capacitors and heat sinks and other stuff that gets hot radiate less of their heat. wasnt the point to make this run cool as possible?

@rugs3333 Nope people cool processors with liquid Helium/Hydrogen all the time and regularly pull temperatures between 3.5K and 5.0 k (about -450F or -267C)

So -10F is peas and carrots compared to what others do to there computers. although it takes a great deal of insulation (including under the processor socket itself) to pull that off because of the massive condensation forming.

as long as your processor (heatsink) stays above ambient temp, you won't get condensation.

@ganymedeIV4 Nobody uses liquid helium or hydrogen! They are both way to dangerous for CPU cooling. Spill some liquid helium on yourself and it kills you (when it stops boiling it turns into a superfluid that penitrates skin and expands inside the tissue), make a spark in hydrogen vapor and it blows up. There was however a group of guy's who did it once in Las Vegas but thats the only time I know of. When people use liquid gasses its almost always liquid nitrogen.

@LlamaKing123456789 It's a very reliable and accurate controller. although the interface is a little puzzling at first just read the manual and its easy as pie to set the time,date and temperature alert. it also reads upto 10,000rpm on the fans (most only goto 5k) which is a good thing when your using the types of fans i am in my chassis. 15W per channel on the fans, but if you attach heat sinks the rectifiers are actually rated for 30W. if you were in the market for one, i'd buy it.

@Zealant hah it was "okay" hardware, the video card was ahead of its time though. processor was geeked though, never even wanted to gain 100mhz. but i raised the FSB speed to 1800 and made my crap DDR2-667 run at DDR2-800 w/ higher CL timing : | video card was already a Super Super Clock so well..that thing acid tripped by itself on some days so it was OC'd enough (thanks eVGA). Ran games better then some other systems with slightly higher end hardware so i was happy with it.

It's bad for any system to not get a thorough cleaning from time to time, 84% of all computer component failures is a result from dust/gunk build up.

Some of the material matter in dust is conductive, have enough dust build up over two components on a PCB board and you've got a short on your board that'll kill it.

Only bad thing about smoke is it acts like a binding agent for dust particles.

if the cooler was pointed towards the back, the CPU itself wouldn't get any air since the duct draws air in and not exhausts air out.

But i suppose you could switch the rear fan to intake and absolve that, but that would defeat the whole cooling concept this vento 3600 was designed for.
