  • well that was embarrassing.

  • Just saying... fluorine doesn't have the most ionic energy of all the elements. Helium does.

  • If this was for a school project I can't see them getting higher than an E!

    Fail! :-P

  • i think you mean fluoride fluorine and a chemical its an element

  • Fluoride is used in the dental industry, not fluorine. If fluorine were placed on your teeth, they'd burst into flames.

  • @KholdAxe No, fluoride contains fluorine, and they're both poisonous, it's the movement you move the brush that cleans your teeth, not the tooth paste the only thing you're missing is the minty fresh flavor.

  • @DakotaZ162 No, fluoride is the ion of fluorine it is F- and you do get fluoride based toothpastes normally a salt of fluoride usually this is sodium fluoride...very similar to sodium chloride. Sodium fluoride is not that poisonous and there is definately not enough in toothpaste to kill you...however you are encouraged to spit toothpaste down the sink.

  • @geeupson "however you are encouraged to spit toothpaste down the sink. "

Oh yeah, let's pretend your tongue doesn't absorb things anymore.

  • @DakotaZ162 Oh yeah, lets pretend your tongue doesnt absorb all of the toothpaste you spit out?... You arent going to take in enough sodium fluoride to kill you brushing your teeth...i just said its encouraged not to take it all in

  • @geeupson Jumping to the conclusion of death wasn't my first thoughts but if you want to think like that it's called the penny effect, every day you get a penny, every day it adds up.

  • @DakotaZ162 I acknowlage that fluoride is cumulative in the human body but cases of fluoride poisoning is very rare. Back to your original point toothpaste does clean the teeth (killing bacteria) and fluoride does not contain fluorine, they are Ions of each other one being F2 which reacts with everything but neon and helium and the other is F- an Ion with a full outer p5 orbital and the other behave much like the chloride ions you find in most water

  • @geeupson Read this first ... shit can't send it though comments, I'll PM it.

  • I tried putting fluorine on my teeth, but my gums turned blue, my mouth filled with ulcers and my teeth all rotted!

  • no there does no oxygenfluorid form!

its a little more complex to produce OF2, O2F2 or O4F2

  • don't use FLUORINE, use FLUORIDE. if you actually used fluorine you would burst into flames D:

  • very true, Fluorine is so reactive it will burn water, whereas fluoride has oxygen in it as well, so it is harmless......

  • They have been drinking the water to much. What is in Your water. Calcium Flouride was the intended Flourine, but after a closer look at costs, they substituted Calcium Flouride with Sodium Flouride, The major problem is that Sodium Flouride is an industrial byproduct, It is left over when making fertilizers as well as purifing Aluminium, it is being studied as a major cause of many neurological deaths. As the byproduct contains high levels of Aluminium. ASK FOR CALCIUM FLOURIDE

  • Cute Kids ...

  • Actually recent studies have shown that fluoride is bad for dental health. Dentist make more money when more people come to them with dental problems. The only good thing fluoride does is kill germs, rats, cockroaches, and various other living things. It's also a highly effective mind-control drug for dumbing down the population, and reducing resistance to domination. When ingested it attacks every organ in the body. No matter how small the dosage it is still poisonous.

  • Thank you mr. Ripper.

  • Your welcome. Recently I've found fluoride in the milk they give to children in nursery school. Why do they do this? These kids don't need it, their teeth fall out around the age of 5 and get replaced by the new ones that grow from underneath. The fluoridation program in nursery schools also involes making the kids brush their teeth after EVERY snack , drink, meal... have you noticed that 'kids' toothpaste has massive amounts of fluoride in it. All this does is reduce their I.Q.s. It's toxic.

  • Any substance used for altering the mind would have to either resemble or react with chemicals actually used by the brain, which dental fluorides don't. The effects you describe are rather similar to those of tetrahydrocannabinol, which I imagine you have been ingesting. You'd have to be stoned to prefer kids with rotten teeth over ones with healthy teeth (unless it's a fetish of yours). You may be confusing fluorides with elemental fluorine gas.

  • Yes they do. tetrawhatnow? WTF? What you need to do is a search on google. type in "fluoride causes" and see what comes up. You obviously haven't a clue what you're talking about.

  • I got "causes cancer" and "causes cavities"; Nothing about mind control. You would be in the hospital for completely different reasons if you drank enough tapwater to get cancer from the fluorides! Where I live, as in most of North America, there are far worse things in your tapwater anyway (like Chlorine and pesticides, which are carcinogens and are also BAD for your teeth!)

Never trust anything that starts with "in a [recent] study" btw, they never reveal any truth.

  • @Envergure unfortunately we don't everything about biochemistry - flouride might replace chloride in some body parts causing malfunction, and since we are not adapted to it, who knows what it might cause !

this applies to all substances which don't occur in our natural diet

  • fail

  • sounds like you just read the periodic table?

and what with the getup? must be a junior high school project.

  • hah, nah, just a mad easy teacher.

  • to bad F is poisinous

  • Ha, very funny indeed. Great job you there.
