  • Does anybody know how is she doing to this day?

  • Jane, I am so sorry to hear of your new battle. I did see the special on dateline and at that time felt how strong you were along with your husband. Sometimes we wonder why these things happen to us and what have we done to deserve it. There is always an exit at the end of the road. Hang in there!!! I wish I were near you to help and comfort you and your family....

  • @mariav41

From a website that asks "What have we done to deserve this?" comes this answer:

    John, 9:1-5

  • Jesus and His disciples come upon a man who was born blind.

His disciples use this opportunity to raise the age-old question that humans down through the ages, have asked when seeing human suffering:

"Master, who's sin caused this man to be born blind--his parents' sin, or his own?

    I call this the "blame-game."

Jesus tells His disciples that they are asking the wrong question, that they were trying to find out whose fault is was that this man was born blind.

  • Jesus says to them, "His blindness has nothing to do with his sins, or the sins of his parents, but that the power of God might be seen at work in him."

Jesus is not saying at all that God caused this man's blindness. Rather, given the fact that there is a blind man in our midst, Jesus' focus is on making sure that God's Power might be seen in helping this blind man, and that God wants us to work earnestly toward that end while we have the time.

  • You see, Jesus is telling the disciples that we are asking the wrong question when we want to figure out who is at fault that a person is born blind. Jesus is more concerned about how God wants to help us to help a person who is blind.

  • honey, I am so, so sorry. I knew I had seen you some where. Be strong. God bless you and your family.

  • My prayers go out to the Valsecas they have truly been through a lot in their lives, I saw their story when it aired on dateline. I will say this though, they appear to have a love that is unmatched by many!!! They are really sticking it out for one another, and that has to be admired.

  • Wow this family has been through a lot. First her husband is kidnapped and now she is fighting cancer. My prayers go out to her and her family.

  • Keeping Jayne in my thoughts as she fights this awful disease. My daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 42, she is now a 6 year survivor! I wish you nothing but the best in life and in health Jayne.

  • This is such a coencidence that she's doing these commercials because she's also featured in a St. Jude's Children Hospital commercial.....

  • @bobbytumbleweed & she's going to be on an up coming "I survived " show
