3 things, Antarctic Treaty, False Mayday and bamboo spear. Tony, as any good Admiral of the Texas Navy should know, the Antarctic Treaty (which Japan has sighed but has violated on many occasions) prohibits the use of any military in the Antarctic zone. The Antarctic area is setup to be used for research, and i dont mean the type of "research" japan is conducting. If Japan were to send a military ship down that far south, it would be a major violation and possibly an invasion of the area.
2nd thing is the false Mayday. Sea Shepherd responded to the mayday very quickly from both vessels. When the Y3 did not respond on the radio to them and began to make way again, it was confirmed that they had issued a false mayday. A False mayday is very illegal in Austrian search and rescue waters, and in international waters for that matter. In the U.S. it results in a minimum of $5,000 fine and prison time. Issuing the mayday was very irresponsible and illegal on the part of the captain
3rd was the bamboo spear thrown at the small boat, when is that ever OK. Sea shepherd has never tried to injure anyone on board the other ships, while Japan is throwing a bamboo spear directly at the people in the small boat. They are lucky that no one was hit. 3 things, Antarctic Treaty, False Mayday and bamboo spear. Tony, as any good Admiral of the Texas Navy should know, the Antarctic Treaty (which Japan has sighed but has violated on many occasions) prohibits the use of any military in the Antarctic zone. The Antarctic area is setup to be used for research, and i dont mean the type of "research" japan is conducting. If Japan were to send a military ship down that far south, it would be a major violation and possibly an invasion of the area.

2nd thing is the false Mayday. Sea Shepherd responded to the mayday very quickly from both vessels. When the Y3 did not respond on the radio to them and began to make way again, it was confirmed that they had issued a false mayday. A False mayday is very illegal in Austrian search and rescue waters, and in international waters for that matter. In the U.S. it results in a minimum of $5,000 fine and prison time. Issuing the mayday was very irresponsible and illegal on the part of the captain

Sea shepherd has never tried to injure anyone on board the other ships, while Japan is throwing a bamboo spear directly at the people in the small boat. They are lucky that no one was hit. If the japanese had no power then they should have issued a PAN (possible assistance needed) as the vessel wasn't sinking, and life wasn't in danger.
From what i know the incident occured in austrailian antartic waters, so the japanese navy can't go in and blow the living s**t out of the sea shepard, because then austrailia would return the favour.

You are wrong though, first off. This MayDay call was called in on the vessel Bob Barker, which at the time was 8 miles back. The boats that were there were Farley boats. NOT Bob Barker. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society in fact DID respond to this MayDay call and they did document it via video. Now, where Sea Shepherd Conservation Society can prove that they did in fact respond and got no response, the Institute of Cetacean Research can NOT prove that Sea Shepherd Conservation Society did

Now the Admiral is reporting the whalers made a huge turn and are back in the whaling area. I am waiting for further details before I make a video.
