I dont hold with cutting / chopping classic cars but what they have there looks very elegant and sleek in its own way. If they mass produced these type ofthings as retro cars mybe the US auto industry would recover faster.
This car has a 5.3 vortec 275 hp not 400 and you are blind when driving it, does the speedometer still bounce all over the place? and it a 1939 on a custom chassis built in 2006
Poor old Lincoln. Whats the sence of an 80 year old car if 95 % of it is new stuff? Go and buy you an modern lamborgini or whatever and make a new body for it. Would be much easyer
What an absolute abortion! It's saddled with a Chevy boat anchor, the paint and bodywork is positively ugly as Hell, and the interior is just horrible. That guy needs to be seriously schooled on what a "Hot Rod" is versus a "Street Rod". Hot Rods are cool, fast, and low buck. Street Rods are bloated, fat, ugly, heavy, slow, and WAY overpriced. That is most definitely a Street Rod.
Should have just bought a 98 chevy impala ss, The lincoln looks better stock and then you put a chevy engine in it too. Well to each his own as long as you like it that's all that matters I guess.
@fordgt700hp A chevy motor not crappy-not everybody has that kind of money to spend....But putting CHEVY in an old CUSTOM V12 FORD?!-that kind of money could have REVIVED ORINGINAL V-12 motor been laying round somewhere(HEMMINGS BOOK has whatever car and car parts U want, and I have found V-12 PARTS ENGINES/whole blocks with it)
ok ive got a 40 and its had the roof chopped very badly if ya have a roof in ya barn or ya know where theres a rusty one in the bush can roll me a new one please call me .
This Idiot doesn't know a thing about cars but as can be expected, he just opens his mouth and spews whatever crap he can muster because as long as he is yapping he thinks people are listening. There never was any such thing as a Lincoln Zephyr in 32. That's a 39~40 Lincoln WHICH ORIGINALLY HAD A HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER V-12. And They yanked the beautiful V-12 to put a piece of shit sbc in it. How disgraceful, but if that's not enough he continually insults the viewers by telling them it's a 32.
If you want to see what the originals looked like, search on the Lincoln Zephyr Owners Club or 1937 Lincoln Zephyr coupe. IMHO the original coupes don't need any help from rodders
wow, new, expensive, billet and even some piece of crap boyd wheels on the front. another bottomless bank account car, just what the world needs. thanks for coming out
it`s a 1939 lincoln zephyr not a 32 it`s actually a fiberglass replica of a car called "scrape" originally built by Terry Cook, former Editor of HOT ROD, and Ramsey Mosher of Ram's Rod Shop.
then it wouldnt be a hot rod. hardly any cars were hot rods from factory. hot rodding started in the early 50's. ya, they hot rodded cars from the 20's and 30's, but they didnt do it until the fifties. hot rods were almost always chopped and channeled and modified. thats what makes it a hot rod. muscle cars ( a car post 1959 that fits certain reqs), on the other hand can be considered muscle cars from the factory. but if this car looked factory stock, it'd just be a vintage car, not a hot rod
oh crap i just realized its a new car. i thought what you were syaing is that its a old car but made to look new. i had no idea its a completely new car.i take my other comment back.
God! Chevy engines are so over rated! THE ORIGINAL V-12 WOULD BE SO MUCH COOLER! What do you need 400hp for in a car like that? If you want to go fast get a Nova, that car was meant for luxury. To each their own, I prefer original style.
The cars is awsome but the wheels suck and it looks like its a 4x4 it sits so high.you need to slam that thing and put some billet wheels on it. 20's in the front 22's in the rear. Then that car would be sick!!!!!!!
Join us next week when we chop, channel, and stick drag pipes on a 1932 Auburn Boat Tail. Even better than our supercharged, raised and roll barred 1930 Pierce Arrow Supercoupe - with nearly triple the horsepower, DVD, GPS, and Super-sized heated cupholders!!
thats completely different dumshit, VW which owns audi, bought out lamborghini, so what you are saying is completely different. so audi IS VW, same exact chasis different tags.
just like lincoln, mercury, etc are owned by fors, theses cars were made specifically by ford, why would they make complete different cars? when its cheaper to use the same thing add a little extara hp, some leather, and another mark?
actually no... audi is a subsidy of VW, as well as Lamborghini... They are in the same holdings company but completely different companies... sometimes they do share technology, but thats a whole different story...
I heard a story that one time some guy, thinking the were normal doors, tried to come out shooting to nail someone, and since the door was made out of metal, the bullets richocheted (shotgun) and killed the man (causing suicide) because he shot at the back corner of the door, instead of the front which would have opened and let him take a more succesful shot.
I've heard a bunch of different reasons why they're called that, but I think it's because the door jam faces the front of the car as opposed to the rear (like on a regular door). Sometimes when you were traveling at high speeds, the wind rushing off the front of the car would get in the gap between the body and the door and actually pry the door open.
I've never actually heard of this happening before, but it makes sense.
Not to sound pissy, but its a 39, not a 32. Its a fiberglass recreation made by a company called DecoRides. Sweet car, but I would kill for an original steel 39 Lincoln Zephyr!
It most definately needs some lowering. Chopped roof and SUV clearance isn't the correct way to go. It would look a lot slicker on the ground. Two words: Air suspension.
Ok. gets more attention than a Ferrari? Lamborghini? Maybe because they wonder, "What the fuck is this piece?" As far as it being a hot-rod, all I have to say is:
That's actually a 1939 Lincoln Zephyr re-creation from Deco Rides (the company that produces the bodies), in case anyone was wondering. Lincoln didn't start producing Zephyr models until November of 1935 (which were sold as 1936's). ;)
Haha. If my post came across as being "smart-assy", I apologize. I was just trying to give out some fun facts so that anyone interested could read them. No need to start calling people names.
That being said, if you can find me a 1932 Lincoln Zephyr (original or recreation, other than the one in this video), I'd love to see it! :D

all the modern technology? ur joking right? only 400 horsepower, is that supercharged?
and more to the point, your putting a chev engine into a ford its the biggest sin of them all
get a boss 310, current generation 5.4 litre, bore it out a bit and improve compression. u should get about 450 horsepower without a supercharger
