Oh Christ this vid is extremely naive. Like any economic theory it only works with an assumed set of behavioral limitations. The use of the blackboard says it all. All the blackboard theory in the world didn't stop Enron from happening. They manipulated the supply and exploited the demand....the price of energy went up, AKA, NOT CHEAP.
@zodiaccadillac Hey Zodiac, you brought it up so I gotta chime in: if you want to understand the historical and ethical circumstances that led to the Enron debacle, and the implications it had for political economy, check out Robert Bradley's three-volume series on the consequences of unethical business, starting with "Capitalism at Work: Business, Government, and Energy". Or if reading bores you, you could just watch "Smartest Guys in the Room" and pretend you know what you're talking about.
@Byronkhan Had to chime in myself. If you want to understand the historical and ethical circumstances that brought the Nazi Party to power, check out the Adolf Hitler's two volume series called "Mein Kampf". Or if reading bores you, you could just watch "Schindler's List" and pretend you know what you are talking about. The Austrians are so appealing aren't they?
@zodiaccadillac Also, I'd like to point out that Austrian economics is emphatically NOT a "blackboard theory" school: in the heated Methodenstreit of the 1870s, the Austrian Menger argued for a formal, a priori approach to the study of society and human action. It was later neoclassicals, the disciples of Jevons and Walras and Marshall, who introduced charts and curves. Despite the graphs she draws, Ms. Electra here is presenting a Euclidean, not a mathematical, description of supply and demand.
@Byronkhan Being intentionally inaccessible/lording knowledge over someone/etc does not behoove you. I hope you didn't get cum on your keyboard after that masturbation.

I'm sorry but no. Please don't think that this is in anyway good. Maybe your "lyrics" made sense in the way that they explained supply and demand, But this was a horrible video, musically speaking. As a person who listens to hip hop, I was almost insulted. Maybe you should try a pop song, or Rock, Or emo or something. Please leave hip hop to the pros.
For the first time since we started work on this, I actually listened to the lyrics and realized how elegantly and succinctly you describe the consequences of a price ceiling. From a didactic standpoint as well as from a production standpoint, this is your best work yet!
dorian, u make economics so sexy. if u have low expectations and r looking for an older guy with low self esteem look no further. we are meant to be. great vid. thanks for all the work that went into it. :)
I am using these videos to help my son learn economics and to make a Hayekian out of him. Thanks again, Schoolhouse Rock of the new millennium.

@Byronkhan Byron, thanks for the response. I have read several religious texts and your response has the rhetorical structure of the best of them.

@Byronkhan ''a priori'' I wouldn't go attributing that to Menger, that is a Misesan concept.

Less catchy than 'Roll with the flow', but clever and original nevertheless. Hope you keep making more economic themed music videos!
