  • oooh, i love old sailships. i want to be on a clipper... o_O

  • PIRATE ship? She is a replica of the LYNX, an Am,erican PRIVATEER, sailing during the Anglo-American War of 1812-15. She held "Letters of Marque" from the US Admiralty, like her Canadian counter-parts carried letters of Marque from the British Admiralty, licensing this privately owned vassel to take enemy shipping as prizes which were sold for profit as a form of Commerce Raiding.

  • fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

    pirate ship

  • A USA flag?

Damn, the Americans are pirates O____o

  • pirate ship sailing under USA's flag.. Right :D awesome ^^

  • Beautiful !

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT IMA B A PIRARTE ::::))))

  • A pirate ship with the American flag?

Are you saying the USA is a pirate nation???

  • its a merchant ship and i think the class might be either a 'Halifax' schooner or a 'Jamica' sloop idk but its a merchant ship for SURE. awesome bye the way! :D

  • ...And she is a Gaff-Rigged Topsail Schooner, for those that are interested.

  • Cool

  • she could be mine ~_~

  • its mine:-)

  • awesome, i would buy one of those to live on

  • it has USA flag

  • That is awesome!

  • thats i pretty sure a sweden ship i saw it here i went on it cuz my dad once worked on it cuz i sailing school

  • @andjon96 No, it's not Swedish. ;)

  • @Matakshaman i seen this ship in the port where i am once a year i go on it and they say there swedish

  • its the flying dutchman!!!

  • mmmm..... its a schooner.

  • i will buy it

  • it is the bounty

  • i shall buy it for ten bucks

  • If I'm not mistaken, this would the topsail schooner Lynx. I was so giddy when I found out we had our own native tallship down in Newport :D

I'm guessing this was taken at the Newport Harbour channel down near Corona Del Mar, yes?

  • it doesn't use the traditional pirate flag. unless they were just sailing, therefore they would use there country's flag so they wouldn't draw attention.

  • the build is identical to that of a schooner

  • thats is not a frigate. its a schooner.

  • it use a lateen sail instead of square ones..so......its a SLOOP......i think...

    0___o

  • it looks like a cross breed of a SLOOP and a FRIGATE to me....

  • Its called a Top Sail Schooner. Its a schooner that has a square rig on the foremast.

  • its not a sloop to big and flat for 1

  • I think it is a schooner or a sloop. frigates are the big heavier ships. with more guns and sails and stuff

  • I think sloop, frigate's got more sails...

  • It's a frigate

  • It's a frigate..

  • NO Its A Battleship!!!!

Of course that it is a schooner

  • Throw a stone at it!

  • i think dats a sloop

  • its sloop or schooner?

  • I would be so nervous sailing in a channel. The rippling of the water is decieving to the actual wind direction...im hoping, but just to be safe they are loosing the top sail...whew! yeah, not the place for a topsail...

  • where was it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • where was this????????????????????

  • a damn fine looking ship! she looks very similar to the 'pride of baltimore', except it appears this one has a fore boom, 'pride' was loose footed.

  • i had a dream about this only i was captain of it and i had my own crew and thay all feard me

  • how fuckin gay

  • to karrar55: gay?!? you ignoramus! try crewing on something like this. it's hard work but also exhiliarating! I have several thousand miles on the 'pride of baltimore', so I know firsthand.

  • Very beautiful topsail schooner. Indeed, quite the contrary Ven0mb, schooners were a very popular ship among pirates and privateers, and were also often found in the navy as picket ships.

  • her name is called privateer Lynx (war of 1812).. (privateer: a government commissioned private worship, that sails out to attack merchant ships of other nations)

  • Awesome!

  • Nope, not mine.

  • Very authentic more of a trading ship than a pirate ship.

    Is it yours?

  • I wish! ;)
