I love No Wave, and The Contortions are a good band, really energetic... but I am not really into them though. However you can't deny it's influence in other bands, so before comment against them, people should read a little, so they won't end up looking stupid, just an advice :)

My sister's boyfriend played drums with James White for a while. He was a serious jazz drummer and it killed him to lower himself to punk rock but there were no gigs for jazz drummers around the NYC area in 1979! He later turned up at computer programming school a few years later, in my class.
