  • Ouch that's gotta be real hard on the jeep. I would have gave up a bit of speed to try to save the engine and transmission a bit. That can't be any good for the engine spinning at 5000RPM for minutes. I know for a while they had issues with the transmissions overheating and catching fire ...

I know the 3.8 is no powerhouse - I also have a 6 speed 08 Rubicon and it can't get out of its own way compared to the 4.0.

  • I almost did a hemi conversion this year. AEV has an office nearby and I was going to have them do the welding and I was going to do everything else myself. But even doing it yourself it's about a $10,000 investment.

I wouldn't bother with a RIPP supercharger. On that climb it would have gotten so heat soaked that you'd have been detonating like crazy. You'd have needed pistons after a full throttle run under that much load for long.

  • Did you recalibrate your computer for your tires and gear using something like a superchips flashpaq? The flashpaq isn't the end all be all but it'll get your 24 extra horsepower and 11 ft'/lbs of torque and allow your computer to set the shift points correctly for your 35s and 5.13s.

  • @DetroitDoc

Yep. Has had an AEV Procal on it since the first day of lift.

  • holy shit let er hang......

  • My TJ with 35's STRUGGLES going up this in 4th wide open! It makes a bunch of noise and that about it..

  • I've got the same problem with my TJ with 33's. It's the gearing. You gotta re-gear it after going to big tires.
