Hi Simon i have come late to your you tube classes. When i look at the dates i feel a bit embarrassed. Thanks so much for being so generous and sharing your talent
it might be fun to make an olive oil container like the one julia childs used :D which was shaped like a tal and thin tea pot with a long thin virticle spout?
Hello from Seagrove NC-US, have you ever had the stoppers break when drying on a shelf? Love your videos! As a new potter they have already helped me to surprise the guy teaching me! THANKS SIMON!!
Hi Simon, I've been a potter for 34 years...I stumbled onto your videos here and I am enjoying them so much! It's fun to watch someone else throw, everyone has their own technique. Thanks for sharing! Slainte...
I very much enjoy your videos, Simon. How do you keep your pieces from S cracking when throwing off the hump? This is the biggest problem that I have and I make sure to smooth the top of the centered hump everytime I begin to throw a new pot.
Please keep loading more videos :) One I would like to see is a double-walled vessel from start to finish.
Why knife instead of needle to separate the piece from the lump?
The sound of the wheel is sooooooo relaxing! I must see if I can cope with kicking instead of electric. You will see me in the not-too-distant future! I am sure!
You do mostly center the whole hump before throwing off it, yes?
Hi Marianne-after the stopper is made it has to be cut off ,the flat blade of the knife is inserted, meanwhile my left hand gets ready to 'catch'the stopper, as soon as the blade reaches the centre point of the stopper,a partial lifting action follows and my fingers 'catch' the stopper. If I used a needle it would just cut up through the stopper-try it ! Yes I mostly centre the whole lump...SL
I watch reruns all the time when vision accommodates w/use of magnified screen reader software. I've got most videos to memory when I've got to listen instead but, I learn something new each time. It's not as great as being there in person but having SL on video when I need help is the next best thing. (BTW I have eye disease RP & optic nerve prob. w/SLE & Sjogren's disease- autoimmune diseases but I never give up. I will never give up.) In the words of the great Simon Leach, I keep practicing!

You cut with a knife here, while you usually use a needle. Why's that?
I am all caught up with your videos now! Wahhhh! I guess I will have to go watch reruns! LOL!
