  • Toyota must be developing something. Best Car has been posting follow up articles to an article that claims that Toyota is developing a Yaris WRC. Don't discount them just yet. A Japanese rally driver is supposedly doing some suspension testing for a Yaris WRC.

  • Toyota is now doing a feasibility study into whether or not they should join the WRC. There were rumors of them deciding on LeMans other than Rally, but maybe they have changed their mind. A birdie told me that Toyota Japan prefers Sports Cars and Circuit racing while TTE prefers Rally. TTE has plenty of space for a future WRC program. It also has to be profitable as well for Toyota to consider it. It's good that they are at least thinking about it.

  • Toyota could very well make that WRC comeback but with a Yaris or Auris WRC. I'm betting on Toyota using a Yaris for the WRC, based on the new regulations for next year.

  • Toyota is considering a comeback according to Juha Kankkunen but it will probably not be with Prodrive. Kia, Nissan, and Proton are all considering the WRC. Proton could easily adapt a 1.6T to the Satira Neo S2000, but they need to add a paddle shift gearbox, watercooled brakes, and some other components.

  • Toyota has very deep pockets. They could easily outspend Citroen in that department and create a world class WRcar.

  • New rumors are coming out of a WRC comeback. This time they might do it with Prodrive and not TTE. I find that rumor to be a little bit odd. Toyota is supposedly preparing for it, and they need to get approval from Japan. Once they get that approval, Toyota will now be able to focus on the WRC. Maybe Mini wont be joining the WRC and Prodrive will be doing a Toyota WRCar.

  • Toyota executives will be visiting Rallye Portugal and an IRC event. Maybe this is a sign of Toyota coming back into the WRC since there will be new regulations for 2011 which will require an S2000 based car with a 1.6T engine.
