this song drives me mad my mum sang it me as a kid, now she sings it to my 3 year old neice ...now my neice sings it to me ever time i c her lol ...i always thought it was a made-up song lol

i had to look this up :3 my dad sang it today and said that he used to sing it to me as a baby but he did not know the name of it .. so its called a bushel and a peck?

@KingdomHCosplay I sang this song to my children starting at birth. I have no idea why it came to be but I would have a selection of songs that I sang being silly and this was the one I always started with.

I have heard this all my life.. Not the whole thing.. But my Nanny still sings it to this day.. She is aboout to be 95!!!

i was reading over the comments, thats weird my grandma always sang this to me and i had no idea what it was from i thought she was crazy, she passed away 1/29/2011 she was the light of my life her and my grandpa i love the both of u forever and for always.

I see I'm one of many whose moms sang to them as children - I in turn sang it to my babies who are now 10 and almost 13!!!! Says it all :-)

My mum's sung this to me since day one, but she cropped out a bit of the song so it finished "a hug around the neck *repeat* you bet your pretty life I do". I can't think of my childhood without thinking of this. I only heard the real version once I watched Julie&Julia. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who'll be able to look back fondly and hear this playing in the background.

My grandma used to sing this to me whenever we would drive from Missouri to Texas and sung this my little brother when she visited. Now he's fall asleep to it whenever someone sings it to him. He calls her grandma "darlin" because she called him that all the time. I will never forget this song. Miss you grandma. <3

awe i was blown out of the water by this song, my grandfather passed away when i was very young and the only thing that still holds strong in my memory is when he use to sing it to me. now i share the memory with my daughter and sing this song to her every night before bed time!!!
